The loud blaring of the alarm brought me alive, my eyes still dazed i peered at the time. The figures on my digital clock leapt at me with sudden furiousness, 10:am!!! My brain screamed i quickly jumped out of bed had a quick bath,changed into jeans and a top then my hand went automatically for then mirror on the table.my action was frozen in mid-air by an incoming call alert the name showing boldly DIAMOND, then it all came back. Fresh recollections of the love that was never to be........

This is my first post here, salute to all great writers and readers here, i really do need your support.

Diamond was a girl i met my very first day in the university, like the clueless fresher i was then finding my department was a problem. i asked around for directions but got none,then i sighted a fresh young intelligible looking dude under a tree listening attentively to Michael Jackson's "THRILLER". " excuse me sir? I offered he looked up,snorted and contorted his face like the spoilt brat he was and said "i don't talk to bloody freshers" being the sharp dude i was i smiled cornily at him and replied thunder fire you!!!, boiling with anger i marched away from him.Suddenly i saw her... Her face was beautiful as if she was the rose herself, her air blowing gently in the breeze, even though i was seething i could see her her soft dimples, deep little things begging to be kissed..Suddenly her lips parted in a laugh her pearly voice sending thrills down my spine. Was she laughing at me? My brain jolted back to reality at this and i quickly turned to continue on my search and discover mission but her image was vividly etched on the walls of my mind.
Suddenly l heard a sweet voice behind me "hey pls do wait for me. I half turned only to see her already at my side. " waoh! For a beautiful lady you sure can move fast" i was expecting her to blush but her plain smile hinted she wasn't just a pretty dumb girl."And it's really ungentlemanly not to return a smile" she answered by the way AM DIAMOND CAN I MEET YOU?". I gave her my name not knowing i was halfway cooked!

Cool story, you've got it in you, but you could do with the use of more imagery.

Work on the basics. Capitalise your I's and use commas and full stops where necessary. Put spaces after your commas and full stops. Capitalise the first word of new sentences. Work on it.

For the next few days, i got so caught up in school activities that i completely forgot about diamond. My department pharmacy was an extremely stressful one because our dean was a an old conservative man who believed even with technological advances carrying bulky textbooks around was a sign of "pharmaceuticalness". Woe betide you if as a student your face was happy and bright,to him it was a sign of no reverence for the founding fathers.Hence we all assumed the depositions of mourners in the department.
One of my best friends was Jackson: a guy who combined brains with an uncanny instinct for manipulating emotions. We seemed to hit off right from the day we met. After class one evening i did a solitary walk into an isolated area of the campus to think,then i heard it......a low moaning noise, i carefully meandered towards the area.
Lying on the grass, a young girl her bright eyes shining like emeralds in the dark background, her long tapered body glistening with sweat. A sudden surge of blood ran up my loins, a brief flicker of desire. Then slowly though uncomfortably i saw her stand up then fell back again, i peered closely and saw she was entrapped by a plant nicknamed the shredder so named because of it's ability to rip fabrics to pieces.
Quickly i darted forward to help, then i froze in tracks...from her legs upwards she was changing...she was no girl...she..became...a..giant..snake. Slowly it slithered free and it's fiery eyes turned, looking straight at me.

A cold shiver ran down my spine,my feet was rooted to the spot i was...suddenly it started approaching, my tongue stuck to the root of my mouth, my hands dangled uselessly at my sides,Yet it kept approaching with the dexterity of a lion when it corners a prey..Up above me i could hear the mournful cry of the loon apart from which still silence prevaded the now darkened night.Now it was a foot away from my face, suddenly i could feel my tongues free and with every ounce of strength i had left, i screamed......
Dude!!!!," you okay dude?? i heard a loud voice screaming in my ears. I opened my eyes to see Jackson staring straight at me..."what happened"?, "what happened? I should be the one asking that" he replied, i came to read here, found you screaming in your sleep and bro was that spooky!...
I was still numbed by shock, to me it was so real it couldn't be a dream.Unwilling to tell Jackson i told him i was going back to the hostel. "oh sure!" he replied .As i made my way out i had a spooky feeling to look at jackson again, a sadistic grin was playing on his face as he sat down to read. Then in the silence that ensued, his words dropped like stones into a calm pond "Do you believe in human snakes?
The alarm bells went off in my head instantly. "Why did you ask? I cautiously offered " oh just read a silly article about history of this school, according to the article a portion of the university used to be the sacred forest of the snake goddess though it didn't state where exactly .But this is the 21st century men stuffs like that are trash men, aren't they? Deep inside i could feel my feel my fears rising, i could remember the cold,savage look in the eyes of the creature.Could it have been the snake goddess?
