Over the years, Dog breeders / Pet owners / Dog lovers complained of the inability of there female dogs to conceive (i.e become pregnant). Below are 10 factors that may affect the conception rate, these are ; 1. Age (i.e either too young / too old) 2. Disease conditions / infections e.g bacteria, viral, parasitic infection ( worms). 3. Malnutrition 4. Stressful conditions after mating. 5. Obesity 6. Administration of some drugs contraindicated in pregnancy. 7. Inability of the owner to detect the exact time of ovulation. 8. Starvation after mating. 9. Choice of male used. 10. Mis-management of bitch after mating by the owner.
