Signs To Show You Are Tired Of Your Current Job. A Must Read!! by ConfessionsNgr: 3:45pm On May 20, 2015
There is nothing like getting satisfaction from the job you do, but when that satisfaction or the thrill that comes with your job is no longer there, and you are stressed out, exhausted and generally unhappy with your job then it is time to take a walk. However, with the rate of unemployment in Nigeria, a lot of people are usually scared of quitting their jobs because of the fear of the unknown, and the possibility of not getting another job when they quit, but the truth be told that no job is worth your health. So when you begin to see the red flags, do not hesitate to quit that job and move on. I have had to quit a job by washing down the top management team and giving them a piece of my mind before throwing in my resignation letter, when I felt that things were not working the way it was suppose to be. Although I am not recommending that you do the same here, all I am saying is that you know when to draw the curtain when the time comes.
How do you now know when to quit that job? Listed below are signs that will tell you it is time to move on.

You are stressed out.
There comes a time when your job begins to take a toll on you. You are usually stressed out and become exhausted. Your body begins to feel pains and you find it difficult to wake up in the morning and prepare for work, because the sleep is usually not enough. The job begins to take negative impact on you both mentally and physical so much so it begins to affect other areas of your life. Do yourself a favor by getting out when you still can.

Skills are not fully utilized.
There is the tendency that if you are not learning anything or not given bigger challenges you will become less valuable in the market, so when your skills are not fully utilized, you will find out that you are not fully using your full potentials, and that means that you have stopped learning and growing on your job so it is time to move on. I have heard people who complained that they have been in a particular position for Ten years! Invariably that means that they have spent ten years of their life stagnated when the world out there may have so much to offer them.

Values not aligning with your job
It may be that your personal values are misaligned with your company values. It now becomes an issue for you to work in contrast to your values. I have had a friend who had to quit his job because his company was engaging in activities that didn’t go well with his conscience so instead of working in contrast to his values, he had to quit his job.

Your take home pay can no longer take you home
You may have started your job at the entry level with a salary that was just okay for you then, probably because you were single and may have been living with your parents or relative. However, when you now start a family of your own with the responsibilities that comes with it, and your salary has not been increased, probably because you have stayed too long in one position then it is time for you to move on.

Working in an unfriendly environment
There are times when you work in an unfriendly environment and your boss is so overbearing and unsupportive that it begins to affect your work and you experience emotional wreck that will subsequently affect your work. If your working condition does not improve then it is time for you to start looking elsewhere.

In all of these, it is only you that can really determine if you should really leave but before you do this, make sure you seek the advice of people around you like your spouse, relatives, friends and people who matter in your life so as to be sure so you don’t end up making a mistake. Do you have any stories about your job and workplace you would like to share? Kindly do so and anonymously if you don’t want your face on it.
