The problem here are s not the individual Southeast business people, but with the various levels of government.
We should all admit that governance in Nigeria has been a colossal failure from Independence. Development has been lopsided and in favor of federally favoured areas like federal capital areas like Lagos.
Because of federal presence, the airports, seaports, federal agencies, ministries and parastatals, etc, have naturally drawn employment, commerce , populations and investments. That is just simple demand and supply economics.

Few years ago, for example, my family sold a property in Umuahia for a very small fraction of what same property would have fetched in Lagos. That example became a disincentive for future property investments in Umuahia.

The various state governments of the southeast have also woefully failed to build infrastructures that create enabling environments for investments in the southeast.

When the environment is proper, investments would automatically flow.

Therefore, the micro and macro economic variables have to be finetuned by the governments of the southeast to favour and encourage investments.
Sentiments alone will not do it.

I once open a small servic biz in a state out side east, after one yr, i look into my record and realise 80% of those that patronise my biz were not from that state, and about 60% are from east.

The only reason people site biz in lag is population,(market) and that population is not yorubas, but people from all over nigeria. And that is what most slow pork dont understand, y domu think, uAE with a population of less than 1million people, has visitors of abt 9 million people and millions of tourist, that is the market.

All i am advocating is for SE governors to create enebling enviroment and incentives to bring back these SME s. business grow in any region that have working population,and money circulate.

There is enabling environment... this is just like what is happening right now in owerri with the rate at which hotels are rising up. it all began with one person, if dat person hadn't tried I know ppl wud be asking themselves what they can do in owerri. What I discovered is dat the real ppl with ideas are far away and whenever they come home all they do is spend money and leave. That's y anybody who has any business in d East can mk wat most ppl mk in a year within dat Christmas period because of d amount of money in circulation then, any reasonable business man wud just tap into this. I know if one igbo man again comes up with d idea to setup one industry or company in imo and it's successful just watch how d entire Imo wud become an industrial zone.
