Exactly, government does nt create jobs. They can only create an enabling climate for investments which will in return create jobs.

They will probably handle business loans and startup funding capital which was one of his campaign promises. People need loans, without it, the economy will hardly expand and attract more investment. Companies will not start running into Lagos until they see there are more people who can afford their services, so it's a strategy for growth and expansion

the person you quoted has a point naa. Why don't you too see anything good in other people's opinion. I don't know why people don't practice what they preach The state is in debt and ofcourse a new ministry will increase the cost of governance. While Buhari is cutting ministries to reduce governance cost, is it now rational to have a new ministry in the state with the highest debt profile , think about it naa. Duplicating Ministry of labour doesn't also make sense. Its ok to have 2 new offices but not a ministry. Many officies make up a Ministry. It would have been better if Ambode added 'employment' to a parastatal function e.g. Ministry of Commerce, Industry and 'Employment'.

Ministry of Employment? What of the state's ministry of labour and productivity? And as someone rightfully asked, why not focus on industrialization? That will create more jobs. But this move will only increase the cost of governance.

Am an Undisputed Buhari Fan, but I have to say am not happy with this move.

This is how it starts and soon we will see them creating ministry of salary and allowances. I just don't want to say this is an Initial Eye - Service popularly known by Nigerians as "Initial Garagara".

My President of humble above, in person of President Buhari (Grand Commander Federal Republic of Nigeria, GCFR) is talking of merging ministries, some of his governors like Ambode is talking of creating new ones. Some pertinent questions need to be asked with Ambode's auction, questions such as:
1. Will the office of overseas affairs and Investment (LAGOS GLOBAL) not be duplicating ministry of Foreign Affairs?
2. what will be the difference between Ministry of Wealth creation and Employment and Ministry of Labour and Productivity?

I understand, believe without doubt that Ambode is the right man for the JOB of Governor Lagos state, as I see him as a man who knows the needs, desires and yearnings of not just lagosians but even lagoon visitors of Lagos state. However I think he should recount his action here and not deviate from the path of glory as set by his predecessor who is no other person, but our hero Fashola. To this I rest my case.
