My parents are both from the State of the Dead Spring - Osun. @goodguy, Yoruba is spoken in Cuba. Maybe Brazil too, I don't really know. |

Osun is the state if the living spring ooo!! @IAH, according to history, when the immigrants migrated to Ile - Ife to form the yoruba land, some also moved to other countries too (especially the south american countries). There was a brazilian man interviewed on GOGE AFRICA. He was saying some stuffs abt yoruba culture and tradition and also spoke some yoruba words but he wasnt fluent in it. |

Hey!!! My dearest "GOODGUY" . It is truee indeed that Yoruba is spoken in some parts of Brazil such as BAHIA and others, but is is a bit different though. It is due to the strong slavery ties Nigeria had in the past with Brazil. It is very good though to be known in some places that you are a Yoruba guy here. |

they don't speak the same yoruba as we do. theirs evolved into something significantly different from ours. theirs is also influennced by the cuban language. so don't expect to understand some creole "yoruba" a black cuban speaks. there will be similarities but not that great. |
