Well thank God we have APC as the majority party right? Mr Buhari should be able to convince his party of the importance of this singular act.

Looooooooooool, I'm really sorry for Nigerians. Now what makes u think that APC senators want to remove their own immunity.

APC na majority, but they don't have 2/3 majority.

Hon Chuma Nzeribe, a two term House of Representatives Member and the ubiquitous former Security Adviser to Anambra State Government writes :

ACTIONABLE BRIEF FOR THE NEW GMB ADMINISTRATION:

Govt shall, immediately upon being sworn in but not later than 30-days, adopt an Emergency Management Program (EMP) to restore public confidence and trust in institutions of governance as follows:

1. Do away with the so-called fuel subsidy regime by negotiating a contract with the Oil majors (Total, Mobil, Shell, etc) to supply Nigeria's daily needs of refined petroleum products from their overseas refineries, in exchange for 400,000 barrels of Nigerian crude at a fixed & reasonable profit margin.

2. Sack the entire management team of NNPC, PEF and PPPRA, and revoke all oil import contracts except those signed with the oil majors.

3. Hire international audit firms to independently audit NNPC, PEF and PPPRA accounts from May 2007 to May 2015.

4. Replace Heads of DSS, EFCC and ICPC, and charge the new heads with concluding the trials of fuel subsidy thieves within 6 months.

5. Task the NJC & EFCC to scrutinize the bank accounts and assets of Federal High Court, Appeal Court and Supreme Court Judges, as well as management staff of all "lucrative" agencies, such as the Nigerian Customs, NPA, etc.
Judges and Nanagement staff of key parastatals who can't explain their wealth will be investigated further, and if found corrupt, will face prosecution.

6. Pension thieves, Abdulrasheed Maina and John Yusuf, shall be retried and the N225 Billion pension funds looted by them and their accomplices shall be recovered. The curious amendments to the Pension Act especially lowering the qualification of the DG Pension Commission shall be reversed to restore the integrity of PenCom and the Fund.

7. Trace & recover the N2.3 trillion subsidy scam perpetrated in 2011 within 3-months. Recovered funds should be channeled towards employment generating road and power projects and must NOT be used to pay workers' salaries.

8. Raise another N2 trillion within 6-months by selling 8 of the 11 aircrafts in the Presidential Fleet, recover some Nigeria's lucrative oil blocks given to cronies and sell to only the oil majors; and block wastages & recover $20-Billion import and tax waivers.

9. Inject N1.5 trillion into the power sector by building 2-3 coal-powered stations in Anambra & Kogi States to power supply.

10. Inject N500-Billion to reactivate all 4 refineries to full capacity.
Thereafter audit & unbundle NNPC into profitable product entities and scrap PPPRA and PEF.

11. Replace the NSA, IGP and all defence chiefs, and constitute panels to investigate their activities from 2010, especially regarding military and police budgets and the Boko Haram insurgency.
All the panels must air proceedings on live TV, and those found culpable will face prosecution.

12. Then get down to the business of running Nigeria esoecially send a bill to NASS on child abuse to prosecute parents of Almajiri children; And enforce PHCN Sales Agreements to ensure that the privitaized DISCOS will make substantial new investments in the power sector instead of asset stripping currently going on.

13. And as matter of public morality ensure that Drug baron Buruji in NOT sworn in as a Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and forcefully bundle him to USA to face the Law. And furthermore ensure that Mr. Wike is NOT sworn in as Governor of Rivers State to rein in the culture of impunity and glaring electoral fraud in Nigeria. Attorney General of the Federation MUST NOT usurp the duties of Attorney General of Rivers State.

People say buhari should not probe jonathan administration, and I kept asking this question; how can buhari deter others from participating in corrupt practices without using those in gej's gov't as examples? Gej's gov't depicts anything corruption hasn't been in our history and, it must be probed.
the probing of the last govt has not been the bone of contention .if the govt of GEJ is probed, every past govt must be probed or else it would amount to witchhunting.corruption in Nigeria didn't begin in 2011.

While trying to reform the country for good, I also believe it is very important for the last administration to be thoroughly scrutinized and anyone found wanting should be made to face the law. GEJs government has wrecked enough havoc in this country, equating corruption and goodwill...

In the name of God this is what divestment is. The government does not have to be in All(infact it should be in none) business because government is not efficient in running business (not to talk of waste) hence the trend all around the world for private enterprise to run business. When private oil refineries come online for instance the issue of lack of fuel will seize cause of profit motive. Please wake up Buhari this is not 1965 anymore. Your job is to create a more conducive environment for business and enterprise and by extension Nigeria to thrive. Even America does not have a national airline. American Airlines is not run by the government but is a private business.

“We used to have Nigeria Airways, Nigerian National Shipping Line, Nigeria Railway. Where are they now? Where is the infrastructure that is commensurate with what we earned in-between, what is on ground? That is how efficiently the PDP managed Nigeria in the last 16 years."

Let me quickly correct an erroneous impression and it's the fact that I am not Pro-APC or PDP. A visit to my previous submissions on this forum would show that.

Having said the above, never again should we allow anybody under whatever guise deceive us as a people. This is not the time defend a wrong with another but a time to rise to the occasion by pushing these people to the limit so that at the end, we would be better for it. The check and balance would continue until we have a nation that you and I would be proud of.

The task of rebuilding Nigeria is a task that must be done.

Okay so cos she's the wife of the president, she can't wear what she wants. Its obvious she didn't buy it with public funds and the declaration of assets has nothing to do with the first lady. On October 17, 2014, PMB claimed he got a loan to pay for his nomination form. http://www.punchng.com/news/buhari-picks-apc-n27-5m-nomination-form/

February 12, 2015, Aisha Buhari donated drugs worth N135million to IDPs in Adamawa State.

December 14, 2014 Buhari declared his assets, claiming he has just N1million in his account. What of if he makes the recent one public and the N1million is added by three zeros?

Just this morning - https://www.nairaland.com/2351804/lack-power-now-display-buhari

I am not here to argue unnecessary but to correlate facts that are too glaring in order to form my own opinion on this holier- than-thou-attitude of Buhari. To an extent, he is an upright man, no doubt. Being an ardent supporter doesn't make you foolish enough to accept everything hook, line and sinker without evaluating the situation.

My take is this, almost everybody wants PMB to succeed but at the same time, we as citizens should at every point time use any fora available to air our opinion. By so doing, they will always be on their toes. At this point, I will like to draw the curtain and move on. I won't dignify you with another response.

As the saying goes... the task of rebuilding Nigeria is a task that must be done.
