i know sambarry did this. she had a similar picture on her IG using her feet to stomp palm kernel. cheesy

the pretty lady was stomping palm fruits not palm kernel. Palm kernel is the seed inside the palm fruit.

Palm oil is rich in Vitamin A and very healthy.

Western foods will give you cancer.

90% of what you eat is produced by village girls and boys, men and women. in the Western World, village people are richest, happiest, live longest live.

I understand why people stomp on grapes but why would anyone stomp on palm nuts?? I know for a fact that one's feet cannot achieve the result in that picture, palm nuts are hard.

So, what is the purpose of the feet?? Does it make the already pounded palm nuts smoother??

Before stomping the palm fruits are cooked so they are not strong as you presume. The feet is to make processing faster otherwise you can also use a mortar and pestle.

My point exactly.. we all go to school.. but just to read book and find white collar jobs.... if not there is no reason why stomping with feet should still be prevalent...when a little 'machine' can be designed. some people dump their dead skins on our Palm Oil...

What makes you any special than a woman who grew up in the village?. Your picture says otherwise....Infact, it screams village.

I did. Not with feet though.
Whenever I visited my grandma I would do that with her. I used to pick the kernels out of the mould will the big guys would do the heavy pounding with tall pestles for her.

You don't have to grow up in the village to do that.

The sweetest part is roasting yam, plantain and cocoyam in the open fire then use the fresh oil with scent leaf and scotch bonnet pepper to eat it.

Last time I did it, I even took pictures. Don't know where I kept the pictures even.

Aww. Mma nke ukwu embarassed

How I miss her cry

Yea Right! Exactly the way we do ours, with big Pestle and mortar!!! then we eat roasted yam with fresh pepper and onions... grin

Stomping palm fruit doesn't reduce who you are. For one, it actually make your feet neater than any feet treatment ever could. It's a very enjoyable form of exercise (dancing)...and you end up producing something worthwhile (palm oil). The few times I did it at the villa,I actually had to beg to be allowed to do it...and believe you me, I don't regret it one bit...

City fellow, you earn minimum wage, spend much of it in the gym to exercise your heart and body - remain poorer..

That lady is doing her own exercise and making money in the process.

Frankly,am shocked and a bit appalled by how palm oil is being prcessed. Will never look at palm oil the same again.
Horrid.

The picture is a domestic production of palm oil.

Industrial production use more mechanised ways.
