Why Is It Hard For Nigerians To Just Stick To One Phone Number? by abhosts(m): 9:03pm On Feb 23, 2009
It is only in Nigeria that you will see one individual making use of seven different mobile numbers. Many Nigerians own MTN, Zain, GLO, Starcomms, Mutilinks, VisaFone and Etisalat lines simultaneously.

What is the wisdom behind this dreadful development?

It's because of two reasons;

* Tariff (calls to numbers on the same network costs far less than to numbers on different networks)
* Uneven quality of services across Nigeria by Network Operators e.g. MTN or Glo might be stable in town A but un-reliable in town B e.t.c.
