I would advise you to continue with your petroleum engineering. You're already in 200level. In 3 years time, you'll be a graduate.

Most experienced electricians I've come across didn't attend the university. Even the ground men in PHCN, some of them didn't go to school, the learnered ones stay in the office and describe the job, its the WAEC holders (technicians) that execute them.

Continue with your petroleum course, and look for an experienced technician (preferable from PHCN) to put you through.

The money you'll pay your technician to learn the basic practical aspect of electricity, and the knowledge you'll acquire will be nothing compared to what you'll spend if you decide to abandon your current course and start all over again with Electrical.

stay on track don't quit your current course of study. when you graduate or during your holidays you can easily hook up with
local electricians and learn whatever you need to from them with just a token fee...It would be better to be an expert in both fields.
