This has caused serious arguments between me and friends couple of times so i decided to bring it to the house. English Language Gurus and Linguists, what are your take on the above phrases, which is better and grammatically correct when introducing oneself. Hopefully we can all learn a thing or two from your inputs. |

My name is: You are usually asked in forms to write you FULL NAME (NEVER Full NAMES). This includes ur first name and last name and sometimes middle name. So it's my name is forename and surname or forename middle name and last name. |

 i personally dnt care abt ur name......so just go straight to ur point   dnt mind me o jare.... both are correct dependin on the sentence, if it is a single name - Name is!! but if u hav more dan one name - My names are!! |

My Name is......is the correct while my name are is wrong. When u are answering a question i.e. What is ur name, u dnt say my Names instead say my Name so that 'are' will nt be used |
