The essence of character and etiquette classes for children and teenagers goes beyond knowing how to appropriately shake a person’s hands or be able to identify what silverware is appropriate for dinner.

Character and Etiquette education helps them to build their communication skills, learn good manners and show respect for others and themselves. While some social norms may change over time, the basic rules of etiquette stay the same. It’s never too early for young people to start learning these lessons.

The teenagers classes teach a wide variety of topics. They learn the difference between personal style and dressing appropriately as a way to show respect. They learn to dress decently to command respect and not to expose themselves indecently. Girls particularly learn about the best outfits to wear for different occasions, like a date, dinner out with the family or a college interview. They also learn some tips on hair styling and, the best ways to carry a purse and how to accessorise.

Boys also learn how to dress for different occasions, as well as knotting a tie, grooming tips and the way that clothes should look and fit. They learn to how to develop their own personal style for their special events in a way that’s unique, respectful and decent, maintaining a good posture and confidence.

They learn to communicate clearly, what to do in new situations and how to greet when meeting people. They also learn the best and most effective ways of resolving conflicts They are taught that they can disagree without resorting to violence or the use of gutter language. People may disagree but not necessarily become enemies.

The teenagers also learn telephone etiquette, including manners regarding cell phone use, texting or communication through social media channels, dating etiquette, public speaking skills etc.

Character and Etiquette training inspires children and teenagers to pursue their personal best, look and feel confident, regardless of the situation. In summary, it teaches the importance of respecting and valuing other people.
