On Boko Haram and its continued terrorizing of Nigerians; it needs be restated for the umpteenth time that President Buhari must change his mind-set. The international community via the G7 and the West African Multinational Force, would not give the savages the crushing and definitive defeat they deserve. Also, seeking to satisfy the nuances of Amnesty International would not aid our endeavours in seeing the end of terrorism on our shores. This struggle is Nigeria's struggle. No other nation would fight this war for us. It pays Nigeria the highest to summarily decimate this ravenous wolves in the name of Boko Haram. President Muhammadu Buhari should know that he was voted to achieve this and a general security of life and property of all Nigerians.
Further, you don't investigate your Generals and war team in the middle of a war and expect them to have the requisite concentration and focus to go about their duties. If you want to fire some people, fire them and then investigate them properly. The people at the war front don't need to be worried about their fates in the hands of their Commander-in-Chief. What they need is his utmost confidence and support. And as per the DSS, you can't crush terrorism without their accurate hard-core intelligence. The service doesn't need to feel it's being persecuted. They are an integral part of realizing internal security. If you have officers whose loyalty you doubt, send them on early retirement. But please, never persecute the DSS, or let them feel they're being persecuted.
We held Goodluck Jonathan responsible for the extrajudicial killings suffered by Nigerians when he held sway as Commander-in-Chief. He is no more in office. President Muhammadu Buhari is in charge now. He should be held accountable for the security of life and property of all Nigerians. He should look inwards. Not outwards.
Call me impatient. No offense taken. Wouldn't you be impatient when your family members are steadily exterminated while you groan in sheer helplessness?
