No party can defeat PDP in Ondo – Kuku
Special Adviser to former President Goodluck
Jonathan on Niger Delta Affairs and former
Chairman, Amnesty Programme, Mr. Kingsley Kuku,
has declared that no party can defeat the Peoples
Democratic Party in Ondo State in next year’s
governorship election in the state.
Kuku, in an interview with journalists in Akure, the
state capital, on Tuesday, also said the PDP was
battle-ready to retain the seat by winning the next
governorship election in the state.
He said, “I want to tell you that Ondo State is a PDP
state and will remain a PDP state even after
(Governor Olusegun) Mimiko has left. From the
beginning, any time you see PDP losing in election in
this state, it will be as a result of the unresolved crisis
within the party.
“Look at what happened in the last general elections.
We lost the Presidential election in this state because
we could not resolve our internal crisis, but when we
were able to settle the matter and begged one
another, then see the result of the House of
Assembly election. This shows if there is no crisis, no
party can defeat us.”
Kuku said the governorship might move to either the
northern or southern senatorial district of the state,
noting that the incumbent, Mimiko, is from Ondo in
the central senatorial district.
He believed that it would be more appropriate if the
next state governor should emerge from the other
two senatorial districts.
“I am not saying our members from the Central
Senatorial District are not constitutionally qualified to
contest the election, but I think it would be much
better if the governorship seat can move to either the
North or South Senatorial District. You know our
(incumbent) governor is from the Central Senatorial
district,” he added. |

Who de talk! Iroko tabi eniyan! PDP is goner in Ondo State. A state where indigenes pays as much as 2000 for card registration in state hospitals. A state where students in JS 1 pays N10,000 before they can be offered admission. A state where kiosk owners are 5000 as tax (wetin dem de sell). Iroko has destroyed the chances of PDP in the state, APC is taking over! Iroko n ma da gbo gbe! PDP igbo rere. |

Ondo APC already has 2 out of the 3 Senate seats and 5 out of the 9 House of reps seats, and controls the most populous areas of Ondo. The election result will be a repeat of the last presidential election. |
