This is the look of a major market in Owerri, the Imo state capital. The famous Eke Onuwa serves as natural market for residents of Ikenegbu, Tetlow, Wetheral, Aladinma and its environs. The market has been in this condition since the former Imo governor, Ikedi Ohakim was voted out. The former governor ,who is an environmentally aware man, during his regime ensured the constant serenity and tidiness of the market. Scenes such as mountainous piles of dirt, channel-less gutters, dirty roads, muddy roads are common to the market. This constitutes to the presence of giant mosquitoes around the residence. International market Orlu remains the only standard market in Imo state.
Eke onunwa abi douglas rd market is not fit to be called a market.

Is like calling oguta rd onitsha a market due to location of almaco and aluminium stores there.

Must Okigwe and Orlu people be charged monthly dues to keep Owerri clean?

Do you know how many human feet that hit this Owerri market in a day? Owerri with more than 130,000 poly and university students. Yet, Owerri people refuse that at least one of the five universities and polys in Owerri be transferred to either Okigwe or Orlu zones.
