I'll make this as quick as possible:
I am a TV host with Mitv Ibadan who x-rays multifarious discussions; i seek deep analysts whose thoughts, ideas and questions i can quote to reflect the minds of Nigerians on the show.
My guests are set to delve headlong whatever questions may be put forward, but i feel a platform like this with the depth and breadth of ideas it's characterized shouldn't just remain here; as such i invite you to be part of this TV show by making your ideological contributions and help viewers and our listening government sit up.
In focus, please what are your thoughts about STATE AND BAILOUT FUNDS saga currently trailing the government Its an open ended question and you're encouraged to air your opinion freely. I assure you that the feedback received here this morning will form the.major punchlines for the show this morning;
For the record, the show is called AM RENDEZVOUS, a breakfast TV show that runs between 8-10am on MiTV Ibadan UHF 43 / Startimes 119. I'll be your host. Do share your thoughts and kindly join me!!!
Good morning!!!!

Bail out from what ? The financial recklessness of the governors mostly due to vanity projects or poorly thought out economic policies ? We should be really worried right now in this country, the price of oil is about to take further hits and if these governors were irresponsible in the days of plenty necessitating a bail out, something tells me they will pull an Oliver Twist on the FG again begging for another bail out very soon.

The bail out is a welcome development considering the precarious situations in the various states where civil servants have been reduced to mere beggers.
On the other hand, the governors should be made to sit up and develop ways to shore up their internally generated revenue to avoid issues like this.
The over reliance of federal allocations by states is completely wrong and should be done away with. Mist of the states in this nation are viable but because of the greed of our politicians to make easy money they always fail to explore medium and long terms revenue options.
The bail out was needed but should not be continued as the governors need to put on their thinking caps

Well said! But what questions would you consider as germane with respect to this bailout or imaginary bailout as the case might be?

first of all, we have to consider the constitutionality of such an action by the FG i.e. disbursement of such funds with national assembly approval. Bear in mind, a senator from Ebonyi state has taken the federal government to court over this matter. Secondly, are the monies going to be used for the purposes which the governors said they would be used for primarily the payment of state civil servants ? Third who ensures that these bail out funds are judiciously used since the state houses of assembly can no longer be relied upon to act as watch dogs over the governors ?
