I got a call from my mum few days ago. In the midst of our conversation she told me that my kid bros was caught in an exam hall writing for his mate. And since the principal was not around the vp had to take over the case.

At the end of everything,my kid bros was asked to repeat ss2 and according to my mum he's down and can't eat anything since then. Worst enough,I've tried reaching him since am not @home but his line is'nt going through. And this morning when I log into fb I read in his update how remorseful he was and he even said only nature knows his fate.
My dad and my brother's godfather won't just let anyone rest @home..they're still insisting he goes back there..whereas we(d children) and mum wants him to be in another school cuz that's what he wants but dad does'nt want to listen..

Pls,I want to know if repeating a class is d actual punishment that fits such act?

Boombay,,they're on holiday o

And it'd be wise we settle this b4 resumption cuz I won't be happy seeing my kid broz repeating a class.

Let him apologise in writing to the school authority. Your Mom or at least two guidance should also visit the VP with him to tender the apology. If that doesn't works, let him register for GCE, don't allow him to waste a year; we are in the era of age limitation . He must also be cautioned!

GCE is external S.S.C.E, you don't need any result to register. I don't know whether the scratch card is still on sale, but try and find out. You can also encourage him to start attending GCE tutorial classes and prepare for the exams.

Tell Mum to go and see the Principal & the Vice Principal.

The punishment was a knee jerk reaction. Mummy can talk them out of it or better still you go there and talk to them.

Don't allow him waste a year. What he did was bad but he learnt his lessons already.

Seriously let your parents go see the principal. Exam malpractice should not be encouraged but that punishment may be too severe. Probably manual labor in the school and some weeks suspension would do

I spoke with him this morning and he told me the exact thing.,

Funny enough,he took 3rd position and attached to it is the repeat letter.
I think such punishment is severe mehn for such act. In as much as am not supporting what he did o

By the grace of God my elder sis 'd go there since its a Unity sch and clarify the ish..
Cuz I know my dad won't even border going there since he'd been warning us to stay clear from such act. Especially, when this was d major act my other broz was expelled from d Seminary
Thanks all

y the so much ache about that... just change him to another school... he wasn't expelled and the VP is extremely wrong for the punishment... punishment for cheating is usually any of the three

- punishment on the assembly ground
-suspension
-or expulsion

to repeat the class is spoiling the child's mind...

I think that the VP was very mild, because exam malpractice is a very serious offence in the Nigerian law (21years in prison)
Your brother should appreciate this little caution and follow the advice of your father
