Il have to assume its a true story. If it is, 1. Make the police report asap. But please be careful in this regard. If you have family in the police, use him/her. 2. Tell your sister to get in touch with the Branch Manager asap. If yout sister is still young, let her get someone older and more matured. They must not go there ranting or shouting, just go and make the complaint. Also inform them that you are taking it up at the head office. 3. Lodge a formal (written) complaint via your sister in Nigeria to the First Bank Head Office on this issue. Making it formal documents your case as serves as evidence if the need arises. But for the fact that you need your money urgently, Ild have told you not to worry because, first bank officials cannot claim that the money was not sent as Western Union can always back you up. Also, you are also lucky that they did not claim your money has already been claimed. This is the practice in some Western Union branches where the officials collude with fraudsters who then make fake IDs and claim the money before your relative gets there. Im only highlighting this so others can be careful. These fraudulent bank officials will then go on to blame you or your Nigerian representative for ''allowing someone else have access to your security question''. If you take the steps above, Im sure yoou will get your money. Again, there may just be a 7-day delay if truly the money was sent back to the US like the Western Union people told you. Just keep that option open too. |

What a disgraceful act perpetrated by the bank! What is more upsetting is that Nigerians have soiled there name so bad that they can not even send Western Union money transfers from Nigeria to other parts of the world. |

If u can make one more move, try and get tru to the chief inspector of the bank. Ur complain shud have be to him and not the werstern union unit of the bank. Fraustars usually have networked insiders u know. On a second tot,why dont ur sister try another bank for pick up and also to confirm 1st bank game of sending d money back. Gosh, can transfered money be sent back Must she use only first bank. If she confirmed dat the money has bn picked, like i said, let her personally c d chief inspector. D fraustars will be caught.no need for nigeria police.let ur ppl complain to the inspector/internal control. With d benefit of hindsight,a friend in similar circumstance sometime ago with anoda bank though on differnt transaction nature, was able to resolve it sharply with the control unit. Good luck |
