No be only you waka come skul o... 3rd klaas/pass is the hallmark of unseriousness(wasted years). It's inexcusable. On the order hand, it's not a hopeless state if only you can pick yourself up and never give up like a true cenation despite suffering numerous F-5s and Curb Stack.

For you to be successful in life your grade doesn't really matter.

A lot of people with 1.1,2.1 most times work for people that had 2.2 while in school e.g Bill Gates and other dropouts billionaires.

I was at a seminar, recently where we called on two very successful mentors.

You won't believe that one of these mentor was very successful and very respected in the Nigeria Stock exchange, the work she does I don't think anybody in that firm can do it. So, your 2.2 doesn't really matter. This person am also talking about cameout with 2.2. She's very Successful and you too can.

My last advice for you is that you should FOLLOW YOUR PASSION, I mean your God given GIFTs.

The Most successful people in the world are those that actually follow their passion.

it is only lazy people that are looking for who to work for instead of who will work for them. Assuming those employers did not strive or work hard to establish those companies will u see where to work? so work hard dude, think! think!! u must think out something and stop looking for already established empire. think like a boss and stop thinking like a servant.

Honestly, the 2.2 Discrimination is just too much. It makes someone feel like he or she wasted her time in school. God's willing I will start a scholarship scheme for only 2.2 Graduates because the discrimination I faced in the labour market was damn too much.

I support studying hard and making good grades as that gives you an edge but when the deed is done and you have a 2.2, there is hope.

I'm trying to encourage you not to loose hope, also develop yourself with recognized certificate courses, sometimes that gives you an edge as it shows your commitment to being better. for those still in school aim for the 1st and 2.1. if you can, for those already with a 2.2 and below, don't loose hope. work hard and develop yourself further

Below are words of a successful 2:2 graduate;

"First and foremost I'd like to unequivocally state that a 2:1 gives you an edge over the 2:2 graduates especially for shortlisting
purposes. Most graduate trainee programs have a minimum of 2:1 as their requirement.

Now to 2:2 graduates, I'd advise folks in this
category to add a proven competency other than your 2:2 grade to make you shine in the eyes of an employer. I'd use myself as an example, I polished my writing skills, my diction and communication skills.

Weeks before finishing NYSC, I wrote a
proposal to a top multinational firm, attached my CV and a cover letter, I got an invite for an interview, just minutes into the interview the HR manager said... "I love your diction!" ...Your proposal was an excellent idea, I just wanted to hear you talk."

And as you guessed right, I got the job! Mind you, I graduated with a 2:2 and my start up salary was close to six digits.

Apart from your 2:1 or 2:2, every employer respects "IDEAS" over a certificate. I have a very good job today because I sold an idea to my employer.

Another option for 2:2 graduates is to add
professional certifications to your certificate to give your CV some shine, go for Internationally recognised certifications in your profession, the likes of CISA, CISCO, NEBOSH, Prince 2, etc.

If that's far reached you can go for certification from Nigerian Institutes, the likes of Institute of Chattered Accountants of Nigeria, Nigerian institute of Management, Chattered institute of Personnel Management and others. And mind you, you must not read Accounting in University to get an ICAN certification. I had a friend who read Statistics and in final year he registered for ICAN, before finishing NYSC he got his ICAN certification and works in a multinational corporation now, and mind you, he graduated with a 2:2.

I bet you that a 2:2 with CISA or ORACLE 11g would beat a 2:1 graduate to a job.

A 2:2 graduate with ICAN before hitting age 27 would give you a job almost anyplace you apply.

A 2:1 just gives you a better chance over the 2:2 graduates for the case of Graduate Trainee programs, but how many jobs do Graduate Trainee Programs offer? VERY FEW!"

My last words to everyone is this ... Hustle hard!! If you made 2:1 make sure it works for you, if you got a 2:2 acquire extra skills and competences to convince an employer that you are competent enough. All the best everyone!!!
Woooooow !!!!

Kudos bro.. I have learnt something

Yes. But many of the brilliant young graduates in Nigeria without upper class often give up without exploring many other opportunities.
Among the youngest billionaires in Nigeria today is a young guy who graduated from UNILAG in 2002 with 2.2 and he is the CEO of an oil company in Lagos.
There are many others like him.

I have ideas that will create thousands of jobs for young graduates.

The following is a big opportunity for young graduates who are brilliant.

Andela Nigeria Fellow Class XII
at Andela (View all jobs)
Lagos, Nigeria
Do you dream of changing the world with software?

Do you have a passion for technology? Do you have a passion for improving the lives of your fellow citizens? Of helping to improve the lives of all Africans? Consider applying to the Andela Fellowship, a 4-year, paid opportunity to master the craft of professional software development while working for leading technology companies around the globe. Graduates are expected to be tomorrow's most successful leaders both on the continent and around the world.

Applicants that make it through our screening process are invited to participate in a free, two-week-long Boot Camp led by senior developers hailing from some of the world’s top engineering schools. It is one of the most rigorous training experiences in the world and you will learn fundamentals of programming. Impress us during your Boot Camp experience, and you will be invited to become an Andela Fellow. If you accept, you will begin our paid software developer training program and receive at least 1000 hours of hands-on training in HTML, CSS, JavaScript and other web and mobile software development skills.

Andela is a new kind of academic experience. It is somewhat like a university, except instead of paying tuition, you earn a healthy income and benefits. Once you are done with basic training and ready to advance, usually within 6 months, we place you as a remote member of a team with one of our partner companies around the globe. You will get to apply your new knowledge to real work while Andela provides you with ongoing professional development and coaching to ensure that you evolve with the industry and graduate with maximum potential for long-term success.

Simply put, the Andela Fellowship is an unparalleled opportunity. But do not take our word for it. “I’ve been in school for 24 years,” says Solomon, an Andela Fellow, about our Boot Camp, “...but this was the most valuable and interactive two weeks of my life!”

Recruitment Schedule for Andela Class XII
Application Deadline: August 16th

Home Study Test: The Home Study test is a requirement for making it through our selection process. Please study and complete the Home Study curriculum before your test.

Interview Dates: August 24th - August 28th

Bootcamp is a free two-week-long training where you will gain valuable programming skills. When it is over, the highest-performing participants will receive job offers to join Andela full-time as Andela Fellows.

Andela Class XII Fellowship: October 2015 - October 2019

After three months of training, you will work on practice projects in collaboration with other fellows in the program, to enhance your teamwork and problem-solving skills. Within 6 months, you will gain sufficient confidence to be placed as a remote Junior Developer on project teams at top technology companies around the world.
