Am talking about a reef heron. reef herons are birds with long beak, birds with long neck(mostly all Heron birds by the way)

NICKNAME: Egretta Sacra

HABITAT: Reef herons dominate parts of Asia continents South of the Himalayas, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, Tasmania, Polynesia e.t.c

COLOUR: It has slaty grey (darker above, lighter below) and tinged brown colour. Narrow white streak on chin and throat. Long plumes on lower neck and back during courtship.

DIET: This birds normally hunt alone for tidal fish, crustaceans, mollusc after which they all gather in hundreds same branch/nest at dusk.

BREED: Both sexes during breeding season snap their beak together plus a guttural croak. They breed almost throughout the year in mangroves, palms, crevice, caves, vegetation in cliffs, scrubs, jungle, human artefacts etc. They form their nest with stick and leaves laying 2 to 3 pale greenish blue eggs. Both sexes incubate the egg until 28 days and tends their young. the young fledge after 5-6 weeks
