“If only I had teeth down there,” was how a rape victim narrated her ordeal to a South African medical technician named Sonette Ehlers. And since necessity is the mother of invention, Ehlers has provided women with “teeth down there” (a device) that will enable women fight rapists back. According to KCCN FM 100, Ehlers created a product she called Rapex. It resembles a tube, with barbs inside. The woman inserts it like a tampon and any man who tries to rape the woman “impales himself on the barbs and must go to an emergency room to have the Rapex removed.” However, some critics say this is a medieval punishment.
