Cyprian grew up in the North of Nigeria. And all his books are fantastic. I like that you mentioned An African Nights Entertainment. That's the first book by a Nigerian author that I read. And I loved it.

@queenfav, those female authors are rad!

There was this book Expo 77 by Chukwuemeka Ike, I don't know why, but I liked it. Kinda. It saved many boring moments, so I have a soft spot for it.

Pray tell, what how do you cope with foreign books, i don't have patience with them

They offer the greater variety. And they touch places left untouched by local writers.

I should be asking about your patience with local writers! Except the ones mentioned earlier.

Well, foreign book seem abstract to me. u barely relate with the theme, and the setting is what it is foreign. BTW.. I am planning on writing my own book, am at the research stage.

The concubine is another interesting novel. We have Ihuoma and Ekwueme as main characters including Ahurole. Can't remember the author.

One of the few who still remember the old ways. I just recently started reading e-novels. It can't ever measure up to the feel of paper on your hands. The smell of it. And I'm not really comfortable with looking at a screen for extended periods. Even now, it's still a last resort when I can't get hard copy. Technology is both a blessing and a curse.

True bro, true.
Not forgetting the impact on the eyes and brain of staring at the screen for long periods

I have and I totally love that book.

I have read all the books the op listed, while some are part of my favourites,I totally hate some e.g the beautiful ones are not yet born.

Some of my favs that are not in the op's list are

Aura of divinity by Chinye Okobah( I can never ever forget this book)
Survive the peace by Cyprian Ekwensi
Bottled Leopard by Chukwuemeka Ike
The adventures of Souza by Kola Onadipe (Totally hilarious)
Solizo achieves greatness (Can't remember the author)
The victims(also can't remember the author)

And not forgetting the pacesetters series and a host of other beautiful African books.

where can one even get these books . Want the book aura of divinity at all cost.
