it's a beautiful Saturday to show love to my car, and I don't intend taking it to jibola the mechanic who just likes to extort.

so I'll appreciate if I can get detailed direction on how to change the oil (and oil filter if necessary) of my camry 2000..

illd also be glad if I can get pictures if possible .

there is really no big deal in changing engine oil of you car. the steps are
1. Buying the required tools in the pix are the tools I used for my toyota sienna 2000 a filter chain bought it 500 naira and size 14 and 15 spanner bought it 100 naira and engine oil 5W40 full synthetic 6500 naira.

2. my car's filter is above but yours will be under the car so you need to jack it up and place the front on concrete blocks and shock the tyres too to avoid unwanted movement and jack imbalance which can lead to serious injury or death if the car falls on you.

3. get a plastic in place to pour the expired engine oil (you don't want it poured on the floor or soil environmental degradation) then locate the bolt of the engine pan. I noticed mine has two pan under one is for the engine oil and the other for transmission oil ideally where ever side your dipstick is, is the location of the oil you about to change besides the transmission pan has an asterick screw not your normal everyday screw.

4. with plastic pan in place unscrew your bolt and oil filter, let the engine oil finish dripping and bolt back your screw and fit in a new oil filter discarding the old one. After all bolted well, pour in your new engine oil to the required volume (Google or chk ur owners manual), check for leaks under if non then you have done a good job.

5. Check the dip stick to confirm engine oil volume you have put, if it's ok or not. Note if ur car says 4L, first add 3 to 3.5L check the dip stick for gauging, if it's inbetween the min and max point, you can leave it and gauge later.

6. Once the oil is gauged start your car and have a wonderful drive.
