Lol, I think it depends on the depth of feelings the lady has for you. Plus maturity. I've been in relationships where I thought I was in love but would still feel pain over the smallest things I had to spend for a guy. If I planned to call, I made sure to buy the cheapest airtime I could find. Ha! I thought why spend a dime on him. Too painful. Now that I'm older, however, I don't mind going Dutch or even returning the favour on someone I claim to love.
