yeah it is what it is. with every positive advancement comes a negative aspect. the loss of culture. but cultures are always evolving so we have to roll with the tide. nothing should remain static lest you become a prehistoric archaic stone age artifact in an evolved world. you gotta roll with the waves and tides grin
I agree, but not to the extent of losing valuable aspects of who we are as a people.

one of the ademiluyis should be the next king!
i have spoken to about 55 different kingmakers in the province and they all said the ademiluyi clan is the next in line.
lol. 55 kingmakers in ife. Also their papa was King before aderemi. one of the worst reign in the last 100 years. make dem go chill. They are not the only family in Lafogido. Lafogido has over 15 families.

People from Ikorodu are supposed to speak the Ijebu dialect of Yoruba.
Unless they don't anymore.

well you know in all fairness, my parents never spoke yoruba with a dialect. I have not till this date being introduced to my culture. my parents spent donkey years in england and they are westernized yorubas. only being to my hometown like 4 times in my life. so ermm yeah its not really my fault. grin

Mostly the internet. When I was young, I read 'koku baboni' and 'ralia the sugar girl'. These days, kids have iphones, so how can you expect them to appreciate their culture?

Indians use iPhone and they haven't lost their culture

So many things.

Colonial mentality
Not practicing religion with sense.
Lack of written text for our languages
Lack of investment in Nigerian media and entertainment industry.

Indians and Americans have exported their culture through their film industry.
