Crash resistance?

That's something Nigerians need to factor into criteria when looking to buy a car. Fuel economy's all well and good, but it won't protect the occupants in the event of a crash.

It's cheap for a reason - it's basic, fairly crude, and as for build quality, too soon to ascertain.
It's not so much of a bargain then - unless it's purchased by those who want to be in a brand new car, regardless of what that car may be.

That price doesn't give it the reputation it has as the cheapest car in the world here in nigeria.

Obviously the guy works for, or is an agent for Tata.

Firstly, there re cheaper brand nw cars,so the car is not the cheapest new car in Naija as he stated.

Secondly, like Siena said, the car just looks basic and doesnt seem to have all d necessary effizy that come with new cars. I think those buying might be buying "for the sake of using tear rubber" only.

Thirdly, I wish bros sunday, happy selling.

Price, That's TATAs key value proposition. smiley

Price is the key point to sell.
Re: The New Indian Tata Indigo Car Now In Nigeria. (price From 1.47 Million Only.) by Nobody: 1:26pm On Apr 05, 2009
sundayng:

Price is the key point to sell.

Without mincing words, there are cheaper 3-year-old cars out there that are more proven.
There are 5-year-old cars out there that are safer, in terms of crash resistance.
There are 7-year-old cars out there that even the base models are better equipped than the top spec Tata.

There are a combination of the above that return better mpg with more powerful engines, and have a proven track record in terms of reliability too.

Please tell me why anyone would rather have a brand new Indian tin-can over a 4-year-old Honda Accord or Toyota Corolla that is a better all-rounder?
Besides the obvious point the Tata is a "tear-rubber?"

No disrespect, the Tata is cheap, but would you compromise safety and reliability for initial cost of the Tata?
It's cheap for a reason - it's as basic as hell! I wonder what the long term reliability will read like - a cheap car that's plagued by reliability issues suddenly doesn't look like an attractive offer.

So far, you haven't posted any real positive attributes to the Tata other than initial purchase price.
Yes, the Tata satisfies the claims it's a car - it has 4 wheels, an engine and transmission, but that's about it.
Talk about safety and reliability, and I might just look at the car in a different light.

It's high time Nigeria stopped being flooded with sub-standard tin-cans that other countries have rejected!  angry

Out of interest, what's the crash rating on one of these things?

The people who are interested to buy a brand new car at a good price will buy,

Thankz for your opinion, which i have not requested from you.

And please don't interfere tooo much, which does not concern you.

for your kind information you are not the one who driving,

and even if you are driving it shows u are a very very very bad driver who talks about Crash Resistance again and again,

it looks like you are driving to crash it.

sundayng:

The people who are interested to buy a brand new car at a good price will buy

Perhaps, but they still need to be better informed.

sundayng:

Thankz for your opinion, which i have not requested from you.

You're not making any sense - when you start a topic with a poll, you're asking for opinions, including mine.

sundayng:

And please don't interfere tooo much, which does not concern you.

It concerns me very much, to see someone pedalling sub-standard cars, without giving the full picture.

sundayng:

for your kind information you are not the one who driving,

Definitely not, but I do have friends and relatives who may be driving one of your tin-cans.

sundayng:

and even  if you are driving it shows u are a very very very bad driver who talks about Crash Resistance again and again,
it looks like you are driving to crash it.

Now you're showing a distinct lack of intelligence.
Cars do have to comply with certain crash standards. There's that little word in the dictionary called "accident."
Would you drive a cheap car made out of tin foil, and just say "I don't plan to crash, so I don't need protection?"

Indian tried in the car, but I'd like the situation whereby safety is not compromised at all for any reason although the durability could be understandable for obvious reasons.

Nevertheless, Some peeps might be happy to have one just to boost their ago of owing brand new car. grin  grin   grin

Re: The New Indian Tata Indigo Car Now In Nigeria. (price From 1.47 Million Only.) by sundayng(m): 9:40am On Apr 06, 2009
This is a big difference between KIA RIO and TATA INDIGO.

KAI is from KOREA and TATA is from INDIA.

TATA is much stronger than KIA.

TATA is the same company who was making trucks and public transport buses in nigeria in early 70's 80's and 90's

Some of the TATA buses you will still find in nigeria they are very old but are still working which proves that TATA company is a good brand.
