I have a lump sum of money of about 6 million naira. I want to invest in a business which can give me a cash flow of about 200k monthly. Is this possible? if not what is the minimum amount one needs to be able to make 200k monthly.

I am interested only in a business idea which I can implement without involving too many people.

Import might be attractive but now risky with the new reforms in our government.

I advice you go into consumable needs processing,with this you are very certain of your supply,your only worry is fluctuation in price which is directly relative to quality and brand.

Or think of a needful in your locality,bridge the gap by providing it.

@op, I dont really comment on things like this, but just to share my thoughts on the issue raised. With 6 million, you can definitely get 200,000 monthly roi back for sure, but it will go with a lot of hard work and perseverance. You need to explore with a lot of fresh ideas, so what i will give you, wont be the usual ideas, like import, forex, farming etc, that people are really into, you need to develop and work on this ideas on your own.

1. Go to sterling bank, there is a product being offered, that guarantees a 8% monthly interest on your money if fixed for 1year, without touching, so 6,000,000 * 0.08 = 480,000 monthly, before you scream na lie, just walk into any sterling bank and ask there customer care unit, simple.

There is a prevailing shortage of good cloths to wear, the only source is all imported, and very low quality, which is very bad, its so bad that when you get to cele bus stop, you see people advertise cloths for 50naira, and people still bad, its so pathetic, i feel any average nigerian, will want to buy a new quality cloth at affordable price.

3. Transportation business, well i know this is over flogged, but there is serious though to be made here, that can give you good roi, i dont know the running details, but this is just my idea. Go around and do your due deligence and find routes that are less volatile and profitable, for example airport shuttles running the airport is one good and profitable area, the union there is well organised, and the buses are neat, and well maintained, you could get a good driver and get two to three buses, definitely you wont focus all ur head in one route, i know danfo usually deliver close to 5k per day to owner, can can be slighly less.

Also i want you to try coaster in the mix also, or better still a large marcopolo, those long ones, that run mile 2 - ikorodu, with your budget, those ones can deliver close to 30k per day for you.

If not comfortable with that, you can buy good sienna buses and do interstate or volwswagon bus and do cargo, there are lots of transportation needs you can fit into and make good money.

Be an alcohol major distributor, u really need to know the quantity of alcohol being consumed in this country you will marvel, and they are selling, i dont mean bear drinks, focus on energy drinks, spirits, bitters drinks of different types, get there whole sale franchise, and dominate a particular local govt with huge population and supply to those areas, or market to new markets that dont sell the products yet, there are numerous.

5. Build and sell an e-library to secondary schools. Imagine a student can go into a library, go to a computer system and can study and read up everything on maths, that the teacher is teaching him or her, broken down topic by topic and well explained, with numerous question and answer for the student to practice. You do that for all courses and break them down for students to learn it easily. So you sell it to secondary schools as a complete suite for there library use, so students can come in and learn at there own pace, if they need extra guidance on any particular subject.

With that, you are breaking the barrier of education, or you can just build it online, these are the same models being operated by codeacademy.com. You can pay a developer, either local or abroad to help you design, although it might cost you up to $10,000 to build if not more. But once you have the initial outlay gone, you can reproduce and resell to clients schools.
