Sometimes, ‎you may think you have got the best things in the world. But these same things you value so much can be shit or taken as shit to some people. Below is an excerpt of my experience at the newly introduced matrix trade-in at slot Nigeria.

Am going to be very brief so you don't have to worry that it will just be "a long and boring story".
So, I went to the infamous computer village with the aim of swapping my BlackBerry Q10 for a high-end android phone. I had tecno-camon in mind. I specifically went to slot and met with the Matrix trade-in agent, luckily for me it was a girl. So I wooed her a little and showed her my phone to check. After the so called "inspection" she told me it is valued at 15k! I simply told her to give me my phone then asked how on earth a phone I bough 50k now 40k is valued at 15 f*cking thousand naira She just said that's the value and each phone has a fixed price. One guy came later with a tecno h7, guess what she told the guy? 8k! Another with samsung S5 was valued at #19,500!  So my fellow nairalanders, the lesson of the story is that matrix trade-in is crap and uncalled for. Btw, my phone is just a year old and it's still very neat.
Disclaimer: this is just my opinion based on my experience and some other factors concerning the program. You can critic but don't forget the saying "experience is the best teacher".

Cc:lalasticlala, dragnet, puskin.
It's still up for sale oo or swapping if you have tecno camon.

I wasn't expecting her to say 25k - 50k either.
this is business, their business, they can't obviously receive your phone from you at a price someone could get the same phone 'used' somewhere else. If there are going to sell your phone or whatever they do with it, they need to make PROFIT. And one rule of making larger profit is bargaining for cheaper cost price.

yes business is business I totally agree. Does that now mean the customer must lose? universally, customer is king in all business.

This is true tho.... A used Q10 now is worth 20K.... So actually they gave the OP a pretty fair deal.... OP you should blame yourself for not finding out the value of your phone before going there... Wasted thread

Sounds like a fair deal to me sir... Unfortunately you are just a little bit attached to your phone with sentiment...

It'd called a second hand phone and you should be getting a second hand price... cheesy

You are not the only customer, and in business you can't win the heart of ALL customers, you did not find the deal attractive does not mean every other customer would not, who knows, you might be among the 'few' whose heart were not won by the business. Because if you guys where in 'noticeable majority', the business won't go on!

If you ask me, a brand new q10 is around 40k, 2nd hand is around 25k, so 15k they offered you is a good bargain. Just like majority on this tread are saying, so again, you are among the 'few'

A lesson to us all, electronic or mechanical devices depreciates in value so there's no gain in investing that huge sum of money buying them and expecting to get back value when reselling.... doesn't work that way.
