Once again this is not a list of top selling,richest,most popular artiste or even rappers,this just draws attentions to nigerian artiste that are extremely unique,they share their style and music with no one,they bring to the table a different thing entirely from what we hear everyday.As a music analyts,i have no words to express how proud i am of these artistes,they restore some form of sanity to the industry with their different sound.If Nigeria can have more of these type of artistes,what's there to hate about our music industry?

5.BlackMagic
Black is an artiste that you listen to and get some form of nostalgia,he takes me back with some of his works.When i listened to his songs 'Rainbow' 'confirm' 'Repete',the songs took me back to the past but i couldnt really figure out where,it was crazy like that.He takes his time,no rush,no noise just smooth calm delivery with a unique voice to crown it all.He infuses rap,soul and R n B perfectly well,he is good bro!

4.Boj
There is a mystery about this guy right here i've been trying to solve.His voice and singing pattern sounds like none and is also next to none.He broke a record for being the only artiste to get nominated in a category at an award twice...with a single track! That was at the headies and it was for the 'alternative artiste of the year' (if my memories serves me right).When Bolaji is on the microphone you have to listen ya'll.With an unrivalled skill in making nice hooks with a voice and dress sense of his own,he'll keep making PAPER(one of my favourite track of his).

3.Timi Dakolo
Timi didnt and hopelfully cannot change for no one or anything,thats what i love about him.He didnt compromise his game,he keeps keeping true to himself and style.We have seen artiste like chidinma,iyanya and praiz change their style but not Timi.He has a unique voice,talent and a gentleman style which we all love.His works are for the mature minded and highly tasteful people.He is a breath of fresh air to the industry.

2.Brymo
Brymo is a poet,philosopher and a very talented artiste,you literally need a vast knowledge in music and need to be highly learned to relate or understand his brand of music.Good thing he left chocolate city,maybe we would not have gotten the chance to meet the real Brymo.I got his last two albums(Son of a carpenter and Tabularasa) and till now am still in shock on how only one individual can possess such unique gift in music.He is got the true melody,powerful lyrics,powerful voice,powerful message,powerful....ok let me stop here! Brymo is a great artiste,based on any international standard.His music should be studied in universities.Lol!

1.Asa
If the artistes listed above are kings in nigerian music,Asa is the African goddess of music.You'll definitely run outta words trying to describe Asa's brand of music.She is mellow,calm,smooth and soothing with the music she does,And then it seems effortless to her,thats the shocker,how else can you define true talent?. With lyricism and voice that is out of this world,one cant help but conclude that Asa is the best around now,no rivals.She gets international recognition for doing what she love,the african way which can be observed in her various songs which she uses the yoruba dialect and which is quite remarkable.With an artiste like Asa you can be proud to be a nigerian.
