i attended a funeral ceremony where the wife of the man being buried thrown the wedding ring he gave to her in the grave as the corpse was being covered.
i noticed some people condemning the woman secretly.
so, what is wrong in the woman throwing the ring into the grave? after all, the man is know more or she should have kept it?

Only her knows where the shoe pinched her so who am I to judge

however it's better she openly shown her disdain towards the man's corpse which she didn't have the nerves to do if he was alive than crying pretentious crocodile tears and in the back of her mind she'll be like I can't wait for this burial to be over so I can get home and celebrate like some Widows do only for them to get home and she's someone else and then you wonder is this really her

moreover she's better than the lady that went to urinate on top of her boyfriend abi babydaddys graveside and posted the picture online

I even saw the photo on nl to

I have seen it happen severally. According to d officiating minister, he said d ring was a symbol of their love till death do them apart.
So death automatically ends everything they shared in d marriage, as d living has nothing in common with d dead.

Maybe the man died young, so the woman felt throwing the ring into the grave will end any thing between them.

Were they children in the marriage?

Obviously, the woman want to remarry. Or she want to flex after mourning for a year or two.

That action may actually be as a result of advice given to her by her friends or family. It also depends on the type of love, closeness and relationship between the late husband and the wife when the man was alive. Many things could lead to such action.

U know d saying dat d dead n d living has nothing in common. They both exchange vows on their wedding day, using d ring as a physical symbol that tie both of them together. And at d end of d vow, its usually Till Death do us part.
So d death of any spouse puts an end to d marriage.
Though different strokes for different folks sha.

Who am I to condemn the man or the woman?

But in my opinion, none of them should throw their symbol of love openly into the grave.

There are time when the family alone has assess to view or have quite time with the dead, the man or the woman can always place the ring in the coffin quietly,Instead of throwing it openly and attracting unnecessary attention.

It is kinda disrespectful.

Maybe it's her way of saying goodbye.
Did anyone bother to ask her why she chose to throw it into the grave before coming to the consensus that she might have done it for negative reasons?
