Pls help. Like I mistakenly deleted a system app/folder. I suddenly noticed dat my Dialler and Contacts icons hv disappered on my homescreen as well as frm my app drawer. Hence no more any visible icons again thru which I can dial any no. or even access my contacts. Btw I was able to get 'Simpler contacts & dialler' app frm playstore & installed. A little relief came as I was now able to call up d dialler, make calls & access my contacts again. Thinking it's all over, it's just now I noticed dat I can't create/save any new no. into Contacts. And every attempt to call up d dialler now as b4 or to access my Contacts gives dis error msg "unfortunetly,the process android.process.acore has stopped". I did factory reset yet d prob remains. Pls hw do I overcome dis? Or does any1 know how I can get back d default Dialler & Contacts apk? Are there ways dis can be resolved without necessarily connecting to pc? *Note: D phone is Samsung galaxy s duos s7562. Rooted thru Kingroot without pc. Had age-long problem of nt connecting to pc, thus no recovery nor custom rom is installed. Doesnt enter download mode. I appreciate your assistance. |

Solution is to reflash your rom... Another suggestion is to download another contact replacement app and dialer... I'm not sure if it will stop the misbehaving as those apps initiate the stock contacts and dialer... The best solution flash another rom.. |

Samwell247:It's true cos I hv tried abt 3 diff replacement contact/dialler apps now, though I can make calls & access my contacts, yet I can't save any new contact. This is why i tell people. Root your phone ONLY if you know what you are doing, otherwise you will definitely end up messing it up with time. Having a root access means you can modify or remove almost every single software/firmware files embedded on your device. Sorry OP. you might need to reflash your phone to stock except you knew exactly the directories where those files were deleted from, you can get a friend that uses the exact model and transfer the files unto yours. |

Bt can't I do dis 'reflash d phone to stock' offline & without connecting to pc? I mean, as in getting d app(s) & re-instal it. |

alldrunsx: You can delete/remove system files only if you are rooted. You can't install stock/system apps via the main package installer bro, the installation will be aborted during the process, you can either distribute the files into specific folders manually or flash them via recovery. Yes, you can flash the stock ROM without connecting the pc if you have clockworkmod installed and if you have the right flashable stock ROM for your phone in zip format |

alldrunsx: My oga. Good to see you here it's been a long time o. I Still remember the Symbian times  alldrunsx: You can do this but it can be quite difficult if u dont know the exact files that was deleted. But if u do, you can place them into their specific system folders with Root Explorer and restart your phone. Only do this if u know the exact files deleted alldrunsx: Clockwork mod recovery is a modified recovery option for a rooted device so u can perform more task with your phone when you in a recovery mode. For example when your phone is bricked or you can't go more than the welcome screen You can access recovery when your phone is off usually by pressing the volume up (or down) key + the power key for few seconds depending on your phone model At this mode, you can format your phone, backup your phone or rom, install or flash a new rom etc ClockworkMod recovery replaces the default recovery option that came with your phone so u can perform most of the above tasks U might need to google the custom recovery for the model of your phone, follow the procedure and install Thereafter u ll need to download the stock ROM for your phone, then install/flash into your phone in recovery mode. Thats it. U are done. At the moment, u might want to checkout Contact++ from google play and install, it is close to the android default dialler and contact app. Maybe that will serve as a replacement for the default system Contact and dialler app that u removed. |

@OP...thanks for sharing your knowledge, but im having problem with my Lenovo A859, the phone will turn OFF each time i ON it...I took it to computer village and the guy FLASH it and ask me to get another battery which I did but the problem is yet solved, pls what else can I do?  |
