Common sense is not common in nigeria. Common sense should tell anyone that any group of people that are most popoulous in their region and second most popoulous outside their's are automatically the most popoulous group.Only one group has met this demographic indices- The Igbo.

The problem is that they are afraid to say the Igbo are the most popoulous because it negates their criminal census figures.

If ethnicity and Religion is not recorded during the next census like the USA does, they are just wasting their time.

Lol! So you guys honestly believe you are more than the hausas? Looool! Have you ever been to the north west? Smh! Keep calm, census is coming.

u mean the 10million almajiris, children without parents. It unacceptable to this our modern generation. We cannot continue living in the past, the past generation did what suited there time so we should do the same by coming in terms with reality. Over population or high population is nothing when is not measured or match by development or good living and revenue. So it better Nigeria have a population of 1 million people who are well behave and living good, than this 150 million(only knows how many we are) who live in hell and a society enjoy by few individuals. The rich diversity of our people has not be define and articulated well. The one Nigeria slogan is not back up by anything binding all so the conflict and clash of value, interest and direction is what is fundamentally wrong with us Nigeria. So play down on population and promote development and good living.

Population and development are actually related. Proper population analysis can help with development. I do indeed believe one should only have kids he can take care of, but if a man has the resources to take care of 50 or a 100, like many people here can and do, I do not blame them, in fact, I encourage it.

The issue with the North is land mass which people often translate to automatically mean huge population, which is entirely false. Truth be told, the population of the core North (excluding the middle belt) is concentrated in certain spots or areas, leaving the remaining area scarcely populated or empty.

The population of Hausas worldwide, taking into consideration populations in other countries too, is definitely a number but the actual figure in Nigeria is what I believe is strongly exaggerated. A british ex-colonial master has once attested to the exaggeration of the Hausa population out of selfish desires for a 'voting power'.

And an example of somewhere in the north you feel is scarcely populated is?

Bros, you can lie o. Nupes are Majority in Niger, Many in Kwara, Kogi (infact original inhabitants of Lokoja), some are from Kaduna and lastly FCT.

Igalas are just found within very few kilometers. Itobe (after Ajaokuta) ...Odolu(near Nsukka)... Agbaduma (after Ankpa)....Ogugu.... Bagana (After Abejukolo).... Dekina. Igala land don finish. Tell me where again? let me even pity by adding ibaji area. And you said that you are pretty sure. Area of coverage of nupes in Kwara alone is almost as big as the whole Igala land.

Take note that the population too shouldn't be compared.

How many tribes does Igalas have sef? Under the original Nupe, we have Basanges, Kakandas, Dibos and so on. When you add all, the figure can no longer be 2 percent.

Research well.

Well said.... You too much!

Why is Igbos the focal point of everything in Nigeria?
But they are most likely to outnumber other ethnic groups in Nigeria - they occupy South-East alone, then they are more in number in Lagos while even in the major cities in the north, they are quite visible.

Is the above incorrect?

A country so rich culturally but gradually replacing all the beautiful cultural splendor with the slave master's culture

1. Parents will boldly teach their children English first before their mother tongue (My parents are guilty of this)

2. Personalizing or to extent of even sacrificing their own life to an alien religion ( Most people carry the religion for head pass the foreigners wey get am self)

3. Calling their own culture and believes idol worship, not knowing that western religion given to them is a Roman idol worship in disguise.

I can go on nd on..

Spot on.

Sometimes we forget we have our own cultures and traditions because we've so embrassed the white man's ways.

The Igbo population should be greater than 32 million. The 35 million figure for Hausas in Nigeria seems somewhat exaggerated. There has never been a proper or true census done in Nigeria that truly reflects the actual population of ethnic groups in the country.

I quite agree with u, at d south west the most populous tribe is d yoruba n the next is igbo, in the north the most populous is the hausa n the next is igbo, east, most populous igbo, south south, depending on d state d most is d indigenous there n d next are igbos.
Ps. I have been to almost all the states in this country.

That's false, in the North, the most populous is the Hausa followed by the Fulani (Fulbe).....

Nope. All I am asking for is a free and fair census to be conducted for the actual numbers to be known, not 'estimated' figures that only serve to put some people ahead of the others. However, I do believe that the population of the Igbos is under-represented.

So likewise the population of every other tribes are under-represented lipsrsealed

Make sure you educate whatever population you've got. It's high time we do away with policies of Quantities and embrace Quality.

Look @ India with almost 15% of world population still can't match the wealth of Japan with far less population.

Remember, the Age of Methuselah has no place in the Wisdom of Solomon

Another trait of the ibo: repition of unfounded tosh based off of emotional tantrums passed on by generations. I'm unmoved.

It is only a mentally slow person who would wait to be told of the level of polygamy in the North and its resultant effect which was witnessed in the last election before they can fall back and not debate Hausa population Versus that of ibo whose total votes from SE states were trumped by just 1 state in the North.

I wonder how you guys are wired to be blind to facts but run with emotional conjectures.
Dis just shows how dumb u are .using the election as a yard stick .we all know the elections especially in the north were massively rigged .For ur info no single ethnic group is as populated as the igbo tribe.
