Doreo Partners is hiring a Senior Government Relations Officer, a professional with strong project management skills and proven experience working with various stakeholders including but not limited to Local and State governments in the Northern region of Nigeria.

ABOUT THE POSITION
• Reports to: Managing Director
• Location: Lagos, Nigeria
• Suggested start date: Immediately

RESPONSIBILITIES
• Work with the Managing Director to develop government engagement plan for company’s flagship portfolio company Babban Gona
• Implement the company’s government engagement plan
• Monitor legislative and regulatory activities as it relates to the agriculture sector
• Review new agriculture policies and its impact on the organization
• Develop and manage relationships with community-based leaders, s, local government entities and elected officials, and other potential partners
• Help prepare for legislative meetings by drafting memos, background materials and reports related to various policy issues.
• Ensure that all projects are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget
• Manage changes to the project scope, project schedule, and project costs using appropriate verification technique.

QUALIFICATIONS & CHARACTERISTICS
• Minimum of a Bachelor degree specializing in Agriculture, Public Administration, Development Studies, Communication or social sciences
• At least 7-10 years’ professional experience working with stakeholders including community, local and state governments
• Strong interest in agriculture, rural and social development
• Strong leadership and management skills
• Proven analytical and problem solving skills
• Excellent written and verbal skills, relationship-building skills
• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work well in a team
• Strong and demonstrated passion for social development
• Experience in project management
• Client facing and diplomatic
• Fluency in ENGLISH and HAUSA is a MUST
