The Bible teaches very clearly that a man’s welfare is not a judgement of his spiritual state! Job is a masterpiece in showcasing this. Lazarus and the Rich man is a classic in detailing this reality and the charge to the churches in Revelations shows this unequivocally.

The fact that someone is doing well in this worlds terms doesn’t mean he is doing well in God’s account. The converse is also true. The fact that life deals you a harsh blow doesn’t mean you are not living in God’s favour.

To judge the validity of an offering by the salary raise received a little after, is to turn God into a lotto machine! God is not kalokalo and does not respond to earthly inducements by funding the greed of the primers. The seed is the word of God, not offering!

It’s also error to judge a man’s problems by his not haven paid his tithe! Such teaching is not consistent with the Bible! God does wants 100% of the individual and has not punished humanity for seeking to pacify him with 10%. Why then will you assume that bad things happened to you because you missed it! Those who preach tithe rob God of relationship with his people and rob the people of their blessings, as cursed is he who does not continue in the entire law, and cursed is he who fails at one.

In God’s infinite wisdom, He doesn’t immediately judge us when we do wrong, else mankind would have been wiped out! He also does not immediately bless us when we do right. God is patient! His plans for the righteous need pain and suffering to get them to fullness. His plans for the wicked require the benefit of time so they have space to repent.

Increasing financially, growing in numerical strength, having more assets and all the good thing the world ranks are not the way to know who is serving God! There remains only one standard – Christ. There remains one goal – Christ. There is only one basis for knowing what is right, does it follow the pattern?

God bless you! We need to wake up and find God for ourselves. Too many churches teach a materialistic interpretation of God's presence.

Modified:
After the sermon is the offering. I dey collect offering, give and it shall be given unto you. Do i hear an amen!?

As long as the truth of the Gospel is spoken, God is happy, and that should be our goal. We do our Lord no good keeping silent when some men in a bid for personal profit are working hard to reinstall the curtain of the tabernacle that was torn apart when Christ died on the Cross. The unfortunate part is that the same Gospel that should be engaged to liberate men is being used to burden them

Op, what you wrote is half truth .
In conformity with what you said, the bible says in :
Luke 12:15 KJV
And he said unto them, Take heed, and beware of covetousness: for a man's life consisteth not in the abundance of the things which he possesseth.

But with regard to tithes, you are wrong. We Christians are expected to pay tithes. Jesus told us that he did not come to abolish the laws but to fulfil them in :
Matthew 5:17-20 KJV
Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil. [18] For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled. [19] Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them , the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven. [20] For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven.

You need to be careful in telling people not to pay tithes. The law in respect of shedding of blood is cancelled by the blood of Jesus ,which he came to fulfil in remission of our sins but other laws must be obeyed as we have read that "our righteousness must exceed that of a Pharisees ,who dutifully pays his tithes and obeys d laws. The other areas of laws which Jesus touched must be obeyed and the rest referred to as written in the old testament.
For example ,these following laws in d old testament are not written in d new testament , but must be adhered to :
Exodus 22:1-6 KJV
If a man shall steal an ox, or a sheep, and kill it, or sell it; he shall restore five oxen for an ox, and four sheep for a sheep. [2] If a thief be found breaking up, and be smitten that he die, there shall no blood be shed for him. [3] If the sun be risen upon him, there shall be blood shed for him; for he should make full restitution; if he have nothing, then he shall be sold for his theft. [4] If the theft be certainly found in his hand alive, whether it be ox, or ass, or sheep; he shall restore double. [5] If a man shall cause a field or vineyard to be eaten, and shall put in his beast, and shall feed in another man's field; of the best of his own field, and of the best of his own vineyard, shall he make restitution. [6] If fire break out, and catch in thorns, so that the stacks of corn, or the standing corn, or the field, be consumed therewith ; he that kindled the fire shall surely make restitution.

Jesus ,our Lord ,told us that it is right for us to pay tithes in : Luke 11:42 KJV
But woe unto you, Pharisees! for ye tithe mint and rue and all manner of herbs, and pass over judgment and the love of God: these ought ye to have done, and not to leave the other undone.

Remember, that we shall give account of everything we write or say on the judgment day,
Pls be careful,God bless you.

The tithe mongers will never agree with you OP. They will never allow you to ruin their multi million dollars scheme. To make matters bad, majority of the tithe payers have been seriously indoctrinated to believe that something will go wrong if they don't pay. The fear of God punishing them for not paying is enough to make them pay.

You are right . Don't you know that obedience is better than sacrifice? Have you not read in :

Luke 6:46 KJV
And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say?

There's absolutely nowhere Christians were taught to pay tithe. The Apostles never did. Jesus never taught it to His Apostles. How come or where do you get this from that Christians are expected to pay tithe? The mistake we, Christians make is that, we teach or assume everything written in the bible is to be practiced by Christians. Ours, that is, we Christians is the Apostolic teachings based on the foundations of Christ as the mediator of the new covenant.

King James Bible
And they (believers or early Christians) continued stedfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers.
Acts 2:42.

Well, we're just sharing in the word. If you know of a place where Christ taught tithe to His Apostles for them to continue or hand it down to the church, please feel free to share.

This very verse, is the watch verse for the promoters of the Mosaic law on Christians or those who want to mix law and Grace not knowing the difference that both cannot mix. This verse is soo simple but still many Christians and Christian leaders are forcing their ideas, interpretation and reading into this text.

Here is it:

The 2 key words in that verse are "abolish" and "fulfill". This is so simple - Christ is\was saying, somethings written in the law (of Moses), I have not come to do away with them but to make them come to pass. The contrast between "abolish" and "fulfill" right there interprets itself that: something were written in the law of Moses about Christ, those things are what he came to fulfill....it doesn't mean that the law of Moses will continue to eternity. If the law was to continue and not to end, then many scriptures like the below will be wrong and we'll make the word of God a lie.

King James Bible
For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth.
Romans 10:4

This verse simple means, when Christ came, the law ended but however, I say, it has to be revealed. When Christ comes into the life of a man, the law ends!

Romans 7:1-6, Amplified Bible, Classic Edition (AMPC)

7 Do you not know, brethren—for I am speaking to men who are acquainted with the Law—that legal claims have power over a person only for as long as he is alive?

2 For [instance] a married woman is bound by law to her husband as long as he lives; but if her husband dies, she is loosed and discharged from the law concerning her husband.

3 Accordingly, she will be held an adulteress if she unites herself to another man while her husband lives. But if her husband dies, the marriage law no longer is binding on her [she is free from that law]; and if she unites herself to another man, she is not an adulteress.

4 Likewise, my brethren, you have undergone death as to the Law through the [crucified] body of Christ, so that now you may belong to Another, to Him Who was raised from the dead in order that we may bear fruit for God.

5 When we were living in the flesh (mere physical lives), the sinful passions that were awakened and aroused up by [what] the Law [makes sin] were constantly operating in our natural powers (in our bodily organs, [a]in the sensitive appetites and wills of the flesh), so that we bore fruit for death.

6 But now we are discharged from the Law and have terminated all intercourse with it, having died to what once restrained and held us captive. So now we serve not under [obedience to] the old code of written regulations, but [under obedience to the promptings] of the Spirit in newness [of life].

Lemme stop on those two scriptures to make my response short.

[20] For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven.

What does this verse mean? Take a look deeply! Is Christ saying: If the scribes and pharisees pray\fast 2 a day, If Christians don't pray\fast 4 times a day (that is, exceeding the righteousness of the scribes\pharisees), that Christians will not enter into the kingdom of heaven? Or if they give alms 10 times a years and if Christians don't give alms 20 times, we won't enter the kingdom of heaven?

Listen bro, I have sat down with the word and understand by the Spirit that the righteousness Christ was talking about here is not of right doings but righteousness by imputation which is by faith in the finished works of Him, Christ. Righteousness of Christ imputed is the righteousness that exceed that of the scribes and pharisees - that is the righteousness that exceed that of the scribes and pharisees that makes you and I as Christians enter into the kingdom of heaven.

I see, but lemme help you more if we are to obey others\rest of the laws:

1. The disciples of Christ plucked corn in another man's farm but Christ said they are guiltless. What do you say to that? Matthew 12:1-8
2. Stoning rebellious and stuborn kids to death - Deuteronomy 21:18-21, do you obey this law?
3. Stoning adulterous folks to death - many Nigeria pastors should have been stoned to death o...what do you think?

Lemme stop there but the truth is, the Mosaic law as a whole, was never given to Christians or Gentiles, but to Israel\Jews to lead them and guide them until Christ comes and\or to lead them to Christ, when they find Christ or when Christ comes, the law seizes, it function ends and the Spirit takes over and continue to teach those in-dwelled my the Spirit.

Again, we Christians try to force our ideology into scriptures instead of allowing it to speak for itself. That verse is pretty simple:

Woe to you - You, who? It didn't leave us guessing. It tells us who the you is; that is, YOU, PHARISEES. Are you a pharisee? Are Christians pharisees? It is an insult to even suggest Christians to be pharisees in that context. The people Christ talking to here are not directed to his disciples but to pharisees. These pharisees in all bible records are ALWAYS AGAINST CHRIST AND EVERYTHING OF CHRIST AND CHRIST ALWAYS AGAINST THEM. So, they can't be tithing and Christ telling Christians with that rebuke that they should tithe because everything about them is against Christ and Christ against them.

Lastly, we'll also give account of what we say that the word doesn't say to Christians in the new testament. We should stop importing old covenant text for Christians living under a new covenant\agreement because we'll be saying what God once said but no longer valid under a new contract.
