This can be used in pies normally called short crust pastry

Ingredients:

200g cold butter
400g flour
100ml water
1 tsp salt

Method

1. Mix flour and butter with a pastry cutter or your fingers
2. When it begins to look like bread crumbs make a well in the middle of the bowl and add the water
3. Make a dough ball, wrap in cling film and store in the fridge for about 30mins
4. Remove from fridge and sprinkle surface with flour, roll out and use.

I know that if you leave out the salt and use icing sugar it becomes a sweet pastry.
