Give him Biafra to avoid what happened in Rwanda. Do you know 'BUT FOR' test in law?

My question is why do some Yorubas hate any thing about biafra. Are they not tired of this sinking ship called Nigeria. No love, no unity. All we celebrate is hatred. I'm tired too. I propose uyo to be the capital city of biafra.
uyo or ph/owerri combine together will make more sense as capital of biafra.

U think the world supports a person who threatens to kill and destroy a country daily? The world is more likely to see him as a terrorist. That's not how freedom fighters behave and that's the main reason why I hate him. Who cares about ur stay in Nigeria?

Lincolnburrows:

I like your approach to your disagreement. But I still disagree.
First, Nigeria as a country in design had some flaws some of which have been corrected. We've made some progress so far. if the flaws have been corrected, why do people still agitate for freedom? Why did the southerners flee from the northern region during the last election? There was a threat of ethnic cleansing if PMB lost. (2011 comes to mind).

Second, We've made some progress so far. oh yes! But very slow progress compared with the huge resources at our disposal. Or simply put we have progressed backwards. What is the poverty rate again? What about the diversification of economy that has always been discussed since 1983. Are you okay with the income distribution in your country? Why do northerners still kill southerners/Christians over issues that happened in Denmark? Etc etc etc. Ghana doesn't have up to 1/20 of the resources available to us but your countrymen troop to their country in masses for higher education.

Third, . The question of breaking up should be left to the next two generations who I believe would be in a better position to decide the fate of Nigeria. . Again why should we leave this for our future generation to still tackle? We should leave them with solid foundation to become a reference point in Africa in terms of innovation and development. Not crisis of unity

Fourth, To say people are unwilling to die for Nigeria is right and wrong hey bro you need to wake up right now. I know most soldiers I discussed with who wanted to quit the nigerian army cos they were sent to Bornu. They simply remained because it's simply not allowed in the military. Most of them got into the military because of unemployment and not passion for the country. And they remain there because there's no way out. I also took you serious until you said that civilians are willing to die for Nigeria. Even armed policemen who are equally civilians go into hiding when they hear of robbery attack.

Conclusively, a nation divided cannot stand. We do not have the same value systems. While it's acceptable to marry a 10 year old girl in sokoto, it is a taboo in delta state. While it's okay to gulp one can of origin in phc, you can lose your hand for that in zamfara. Unity and love is highly needed before a country can make significant progress. The fact there is a federal character is a testament to the fact that we are struggling to be one.

Cool points you've raised.
You focused on the weakness of my argument, I wonder, do we see eye to eye on the need for mental resurgence amongst Nigerians?

To be sincere I find it strange when I read about Nigerians demanding for 'freedom". I ask freedom for what? Can we be particular? Is it of speech? Or movement? Of worship? Of what? We make it seem like people are being hindered inmost parts of Nigeria. Which we both know is far from the case.

One area Nigerians may call for freedom is Northernmost North of Nigeria. Where religion goes unchecked. I believe Sariah should NEVER have been conceived in any part of Nigeria, Being that it is a breech of our collective freedom. But even at that Nigerians from all ethnic groups can go about their business without fear of harassment in Nigeria. One just has to be sensitive to the culture of his/her host community.

I feel angry at the way some Northerners seem to take to violence like it's their own reserve. We need a system of accountability, of control, and justice. This can all be put in place to ensure peace reigns.

One area of emphasis is Nigeria is a big place with lots of people. Of all the States in Nigeria how many states have Igbos or any other ethnic group suffered mass casualties? Aside from Jos, Kano and Kaduna there hasn't been any state with any conflict coming close.
There are 34 other states (the conflict in the North East is excluded from consideration in that it is an insurgency and not an ethnic war).
Bauchi, Tarraba, Sokoto, Benue, Niger, Nasarawa, Kogi states are examples of Northern Nigeria states where Igbos and other ethnic groups thrive in peace. So why deem the country unsafe?

The slow speed of our development has little to do with our structure as a country. From the local, state, and the federal level people engage in milking the nation at every opportunity they get. Our problem is the crop of elites currently running the country.
I say this regularly, if Governors managed to get it right, our country would develop in no time. Like him or not, see how Fashola developed Lagos... Imagine if we had 20 serious Governors across Nigeria, how fast do you think we'd develop?

The problems the Igbos face is not peculiar to them alone, instead of drawing up a framework for a remedy what we constantly hear is ABANDON SHIP. What pains me is how secession is paraded as a solution to our problems and to be sincere it can't work.
Nigeria is a polygeneous marriage with multiple wives. The wives fight from time to time (violence) , they're selfish (corruption), their kids are poor (poverty), they have different beliefs, their husband is the only reason they are together and all these problems are getting him weaker and weaker.

A breakup only solves one thing, that is the fighting. Nothing else. And that's not guaranteed because trading takes you places northern Nigeria is one of them, if you can't be safe in your country, you certainly wouldn't be while under a new country.

We can't shy away from facing our demons lest they get stronger and destroy us.

It is time Igbos organize themselves and make their voices heard on the national level for the nation and it's problem, not just for the South East alone.

The truth is that the North has a high level of illiteracy. Thus the youths are open a lot of manipulations. This is part of where we need to work on.

Let's concentrate on actively bettering the lives of the common man before fighting for what already exists. There is nothing other almost nothing that the Igbo man wants to do in the south East that he isn't allowed to do... So he is free. I just wish that freedom goes national for all ethnicities.

Do you even understand me at all? A person is insulting my tribe and by that, he is insulting my great grand parents who are Hausas and my future grand children who could also be Hausas. Why would i like such a person. Everything makes me a patriotic Nigerian no matter how bad. Its my responsibility to correct that bad thing about my beloved country.
