I am not trying to condemn anyone who already has a tattoo; but
rather to warn those who are considering getting
one. God loves us, and even when we make
mistakes in poor judgment, He doesn’t condemn
us, but rather tries to help overcome the
consequences of those mistakes.
They do not realize that partaking of these can open the door to wrong and defiling influences in their lives.
God loves the person who has tattoos just as He loves all of us.
However, He would rather we did not deface our
bodies in any fashion.
Leviticus 19:28: “Do not cut your bodies for the
dead or put tattoo marks on yourselves. I am the
Lord.”
1Corinthians 6:19: “Do you not know that your
body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in
you, whom you have received from God? You are
not your own; you were bought at a price.
Therefore honor God with your body.”
1 Corinthians 3:16:
“Don’t you know that you yourselves are God’s
temple and that God’s Spirit lives in you? If
anyone destroys God’s temple, God will destroy
him; for God’s temple is sacred, and you are that
temple.”
If you love me, you will obey what I
command. John 14:15
We are to become like our Lord so
that we reflect Him in this earth.
Overcomers will put away anything that leads to
bigger compromises.
May God bless His words in our heart. Amen.

Honestly I still can't figure out the moral benefit of tattoo. If you choose to compare ur life with western world, remember that Africans culture differs from theirs.

I agree tattoo is not morally good but that doesn't makes it a sin. Scripture quoted is irrelevant and unrelated to the topic discussed

If you are going to talk about the "African culture" before the advent of globalization which reformed the indigenous tattoos, African tribes/cultural groups have been tattooing their bodies with beautiful markings

That you are convinced that it is not morally right is more than enough.

With due respect man!! The bible isn't a book on science or medicine

Since the OP used it to condemn tattoos,I supposed he would use it to cure Cancer since the book happens to be his guide. People get tattoos for different reasons and it is their choice what they do with their bodies.

I have seen lot of weird questions asked by Christians on nairaland like; Is it a sin to wear my husband's T shirt?

Lol..but the bible already gave a cure which is "prevention" which cure is better than prevention
