SAP Training In Nigeria by Sodams(m): 5:34pm On May 05, 2009
Hi Guys,

I think all Nigerians hoping to get themselves trained in the world's most successful ERP software can now breathe a sigh of relief.

APPARATUS CONSULTING brings SAP Business One Training to Nigeria.

Watch out for more details.

This is a great opportunity that Nigerians have been expecting. I just hope they can take advantage of it , I already have SAP Business One and would love to upgrade.

Thanks

Before you start wasting your money travelling to India or South Africa for SAP training.

Email me if you are interested in SAP training in Nigeria. Because of the nature of the business
there is a company dedicated to developing the Nigeria SAP ecosystem.

The training is free, and they offer Consultant training and end user training.

interested email me gofestac@yahoo.com

After the SAP training, what next for the individual who received the training? Can they compete in the global IT space? Or is it the same-old-same-old training people all go through and then nothing comes from it. Where a person is not able to answer basic questions on the technology he or she was promised. What are the assurances that a person gets what was promised.

Best Regards

When you go to University to get a degree, there is no promise of a job at the end of it, that bit is down to you, any SAP training provider that is promising anyone a job is lying.
The mistake most people who go into any form of IT make is to follow the money, to master SAP takes years of dedication and practice, lots of projects
but you have to start somewhere and that somewhere is the understanding that this is no magic bullet and that you are investing in your future and are prepared to work hard at it. Some people catch a break and get into the field easily many do not.

I get so many emails from people who are looking for a quick fix, I am not interested in those people, it took me over a decade with 3 university degrees to get the knowledge I have. There are opportunities in Nigeria but we are not serios enough to take advantage of them so resources are brought in from Zimbabwe that are just average to do the jobs we can do for ourselves. Its our market and we have to develop it.

All I can show or teach anyone is how not to waste your money because SAP is an expensive undertaking. You need to understand how best to build on your existing experience and lack of it.

The rest is up to you.

@Martinsite,
Which of these installations/implementation should I go for? I'm considering going into SAP BASIS
Re: SAP Training In Nigeria by Martinsite: 11:35am On Mar 08, 2010
What you can go for is actually a function of the computing resources you have available to run it.
All the persons from this site I have spoken with all actually have 32 bit windows vista installed on their personal systems with less than 4GB RAM.
I have recommended the 32bit IDES. 64Bit systems arent common in Nigeria.
But for a basis wannabe, I would recommend the netweaver 6.40 on windows 2000 (32bit also). Since the basis path does not require access to transactional data, has a smaller footprint (image size on disk and memory requirement) and is cheaper to implement.

thanks for the prompt response, Do you think a Dell Inspiron 1545, 4GB ram will do it?
Is the netweaver 6.4 an actual SAP system or an IDES?
Re: SAP Training In Nigeria by Martinsite: 2:18pm On Mar 08, 2010
It is an actual system.
An your system could work, I cannot however guarantee that the performance will be beautiful

Re: SAP Training In Nigeria by doughng: 9:30am On Mar 10, 2010
But in a way, am still confused a little bit about the whole set-up. I thought SAP Basis is all about the SAP System admin/installation/Database management and then security.
So wats really the importance of IDES in learning all this, since the IDES is more like a pre-installed SAP System. Please help
Re: SAP Training In Nigeria by Martinsite: 9:22am On Mar 13, 2010
yes.

SAP Basis/Netweaver Administration is all about SAP system admin/Installation database management and sometimes security.
Most companies prefer to separate system admin and security functions (SoD's). Having both together is actually toooooooo much power for administrators.
Anyway, IDES is actually very important cos it provides an environment with SAMPLE data. This is actually of great benefit for FUNCTIONAL consultants (MM, PS, PM, Logistics, HR, FICO, etc)
It lets you see what you would actually see in a real life corporate environment.

If you can "fool"around on an IDES system for a month or two, with the proper training materials, believe you me, you can actually claim experience working in a life system, this is all dependent on you though and how far you are willing to push yourself in acquiring the knowledge.

That is what the IDES does for you.

Sorry for the late response.

Work pressure grin

@Martinsite,
Thanks a lot. Can I ask you this question; I want to couple a desktop for SAP personal study use. What configuration do you suggest? I think I should use an intel quad core.
Re: SAP Training In Nigeria by Martinsite: 8:51am On Mar 29, 2010
Quad core is an excellent choice, add at least 8GB RAM and 500GB HDD and you can run any version of the IDES.
