After several months of lobbying and horse-trading, the tension which before now gripped members of the upper legislative chamber, over who gets what in the committees to oversee various ministries, departments and agencies of government, seems to have been doused.

This came as the Senate President, Bukola Saraki, on Wednesday named the chairmen and deputy chairmen of the 65 committees to oversee various ministries, departments and agencies of government.

Nothing for David Mark. [Former Senate President, Senator David Mark, will not head any committee of the upper legislative chamber.] However, truth be told this list favours APC members more than their PDP counterparts who voted for saraki enmass.

Can't people just think of helping this nation?

Apart from their fixed obscene renumeration , they will still draw allowances all in the name of committee works & some even belong to 3 or 4.

Why is Army, navy& Airforce not one committe ?

Capital market, finance &banking? Are they not all Financials?

Someone can please explain the difference between Ecology & environment?

Da fuq is committee on local & foreign debts ? Are they going to source for funds to repay...

These people are are a major burden on this nation... sad

It is always easier when it comes to committees formation in the Senate more than the House...d SP has only 100 heads to ache...so everyone must get something safe the principal officers and the grandfather of the Park, Mark man...u know what I'm saying? cool
All in all, it is a fair deal for all in the redroom! No Victor no vanquish!

From the distribution of the committees, the North-Central got the highest allocation of 12 committees, followed by the trio of the North-East, North-West and South-West with 11 allocations each, while the duo of South-East and South-South got 10 allocations each.
