Back to football Ghana not performing well in under 17 means our young guys are not performing as they used to be, maybe it has something to with management or whatever but it surely doesn't mean we are cheaters.

I still believe many of the guys that played in the under 17 cup where overage but that's another story.

These under 17 boys are the same group that gets promoted to the under 20 and I can say we perform better than most African countries on the world stage.

Argentina used to be a force in under 20 World Cup but as we can see they have taken a step back, why aren't we saying Argentina lack of performance is due to age cheat.

So, any team that doesn't perform in the U17, cannot magically get better in U20 with the same players. They just get new players who are usually older.

See my brother, age cheating was rampant in the whole of Africa(especially west and central Africa) and South America.

One thing that baffles is that Nigeria has gotten better without age cheating. Meaning we needed not to cheat in d first place. And I think Ghana can borrow a leaf from Nigeria. I dnt know what developmental structures u guys have in place in ur country bt Nigeria has several well established and funded football academies where these Boys are usually drawn from. As we speak d next batch of U17s hu are currently 14 & 15 yrs olds are already in d production line waiting to be released.

Mali employed a German technocrat to develop a youth programme for d country and u see what sey have achieved jst 2yrs into d programme: an U20 bronze and U17 silver. The current crop of Mali U17 was assembled since they were U15 & u saw d result.

A country like Ghana needs to rise and give Nigeria a fight.It's getting too boring for us u know. Imagine we have won 3 out of d last 4 editions we participated and played in the final in all d 4. We need real competition u know.

Hmmm I like the content of ur second paragraph. I guess we learnt that from the last U20. That was exactly my concern going into that tourney. While other teams were parading 19-20 yrs old full pros we were parading 17-18 yrs old academy players. Similar to whar happened in 1987 only dat this last set performed better

I believe d next Flying Eagles will b more experienced and matured.
I mean tell me dat Awoniyi, Mohammed, Yahaya, Ezeh, Matthew & Idowu will nt bring in professionalism, more experience, & maturity in their game play when dey play at 2017 U17. Considering also fact dat Kelechi Nwakali, Victor Osimhen, Samuel Chukwueze, & co would have been hooked up with professional clubs though most may still b in d youth teams of those clubs.But trust me, Nigeria still will nt be favorites in 2017 U20 WC. We may jst b hopeful of a better outing dan 2015.

What has gone wrong is the Black Starlets Management Committee members and the technical team favoring untalented players from teams they have interest in.They make sure their lads are selected to the national team with the view of giving them exposure on the international stage and getting cash when eventually they secure contacts abroad.
I have always maintained that Ghana can build its youth teams around West Africa Football Academy which is affiliated with Feyenord of Holland and Right to Dream Academy which has a partnership with Man City. But parochial interest of some officials will not let them recruit largely from these academies because when they excel on the international stage they will not benefit financially.

The under 15 of Right to Dream Academy has been excelling in tournaments in Europe .Just this year they have won 2 cups in tournaments they participated in Europe. What stops us from forming the next national u17 squad around these boys

Well spoken. But it should take more than one academy. Ghana just like Nigeria are known to be blessed with some of the most technically gifted youths in Africa and d world at large. The difference btw the two country is that we Nigerian treat our Bleep-ups. We dnt tolerate mediocrity from our national teams, footballers and coaches. Any1 dat messes up we call for his head. Unlike u Ghanaians that are so blinded with blind patriotism.Eg u guys still feel u are d greatest footballing country in Africa when ur black stars have nt won anything for d past 33yrs!
In Nigeria we go to d stadium to boo any team or coach dat does nt perform.

If u believe ur GFA officials are responsible for d colapse of ur U17 structure can't u guys voice out? Take ur complains to d sports minister or president. Boo ur FA officials at match venues and tell me whether heads will nt role.
