Igbo/hausa/yoruba: We Need Each Other(snapshots) by Nobody: 12:27pm On Nov 10, 2015
Goodmorning Nairalanders!
please calm down and read....

I just came across the first snapshot below with messages trying to emphasize the importance of a particular geopolitical zone in Nigeria, and i decided to use the medium to pass a message that has been bothering me for long now...
the caption of the photo was like:

19 out the 21 players that won the U17 worldcup in chile are from either SE/SS while two are Yorubas and no Hausa in the team

Now let me say this, I was born and brought up as an Igbo boy. I stayed in the North East (Yobe) for about 4years (until BH dislodged us). i also spend few months in Lagos in 2013 and am presently residing in Rivers State.
I mean, i have come to appreciate the diversity of Nigeria in different ways. its important that you note the following:
1. The Igbo man is Ambitious (he can pay anything just to do business) 2. The Yoruba man is Respectful ( he can prostrate on Lagos/Ibadan expressway just to greet an elder) 3. The Hausa man is Generous (Yes, very generous. i once made a photocopy of N50 for an Alhaji. he had the N50 in his hand but he kept digging until he found N500 and he said "ba damuwa", keep the change. i was amazed)

Now imagine Nigeria without crude oil, palm oil, livestock, salt, tin, foodstuff, agric produce, international markets etc. you will agree with me that all these resources can not be found in a particular geopolitical zone.
So,
1. TO THE IGBOMAN: before you criticize the Hausa or Yoruba, remember that majority of the businessmen in Lagos and Kano are Igbos. Remember that the meat in your pot is from the North.

2. TO THE HAUSAMAN:Before you call the Igbo Iyamri or insult the Yoruba, remember that that without the South you cannot graze your livestock in dry season. also remember that your markets are lively because of the southerners (i remember june 2012 when i was in Yobe, we couldnt find foodstuffs like Egusi, palm oil and vegetable due to the fact that the Igbos dealing in those goods had fled).

3.. TO THE YORUBAMAN: Have you ever imagined Alaba Int'l Market without a single Igbo/Hausaman? Have you ever imagined you want to buy local perfume, jewelry or insecticide and there is no "Aboki" on the street.

MY POINT: we need each other!

To all those clamoring for secession, I feel your pains but separation is not the solution. the truth is that we the youths should start the change we want to see.

God Bless the Hausas!
God bless the Igbos!!
God Bless the Yorubas!!
God bless Nigeria
