And the winners are , Best R&B and Best Pop Album - Street Credibility by 9ice Best Street Hip Hop - '4kasibe' by DJ Zeez Best Rap Album - 'Lets Talk About It' by MI Best Rap Single - 'Kini Big Deal' by Naeto C Best Lyricist on the roll - Modenine for 'Nine' Best Reggae and Dancehall Album - 'The Gift and the Grace' by Timaya Best Female Vocal performance - Omawunmi Best Male Vocal performance - Banky W for 'Don't Break My Heart' Best Hip Hop World Revelation - MI Next Rated Act - Omawumi Best Collaboration - J Martins, Timaya and P-Square for Good or Bad (O wey) Best Music Video - P-Square's 'Roll It'by Jude Okoye Best Recording of the Year - 'For Mitchell' by Etecetra Producer of the year - ID Cabasa (Gongo Aso) Album of the Year - Street Credibility by 9ice Song of the Year - Gongo aso http://museke.com/en/node/3442 I got the results from the above website. There are 3 missing awards for Artiste of the Year, Recording of the Year and the (non-Nigerian) African artiste of the year. Anyone that knows the winners should please post them. Well, it confirms what I suspected. M.I and 9ice were the biggest winners, however Modenine was still recognised as the best lyricist. Despite everything written on Nairaland the awards were given to IMHO people that deserved it. Congrats to all the winners. Please post your opinions and who you think should have won a particular award and why. |

ice_zik: 9ice won the award for Artiste of the year, Etcetra's mitchell won the recording of the year. They did not issue the award for the African Artiste of the year. rapjunkie:Not that girl is definitely a great song and even Dare's performance at the show was world class. I think Banky W's vocal dexterity was really top notch on Don't Break my heart. But overall did u even vote for Dare? Many people complain about who wins what yet when they are asked to vote they don't. |

Oh stop it you guyz!!!!!  Enough already!!! Don't you ever get tired of this Rugged-mode thing?? Besides, this is the Hip Hop world awards Winners thread, so you're officially off-topic. I bet there are a whole bunch of Rugged-mode threads out there for you to fight in. So, oya, halaylay, cari una wahala go there!! Now to the winners, I think, overall it was fair. Really happy for 9ice, I.D Cabasa, M.I and Naeto C. I wanted M.I to win lyricist, but I have to give it to Mode. . he's good (Okay, you rugged fans dont come at me plzzz. Rugged is good 2, okay, so back off ) Didn't expect Omawunmi to win Next Rated. But hey, ish hapns. I also thought Street cred or le fe nu so shoulda got d best collabo. All in all, big ups to Hip hop world awards!! Still the best music awards in Naij!! |

The 'next rated 'category was indeed a shoker.I expected Kel to win.Exetra's award was also surprising. The best rap album category going to M.I just shows what mode has been lacking.He's got the skill to pull a decent track but not consistently throughout his album.He was also beaten by Ruggedman in the same category last year. |
