Don't they know that concrete expands and needs gaps in between to breathe?
Its supposed to be in slabs and are supposed to be reinforced with rods like house deckings.

This road will be all cracked up in 8 months time without any vehicle running over it or rain hitting it.

The silly governor is even creating a bigger mess when it's time to remove this crap!

What can you say about Faulks road and Old express road? I travelled to Aba last week and those roads were still bad. Faulks road close to Osusu/Eze Ikonne was 'uwa/Aba nto'. Old express? I dunno what to say. That road was last touched by Orji Uzor Kalu. At the begininng of the present administration, I heard that the road was being constructed, but the past two times I have visited Aba, it was barely 30 metres or so of the part adjoining Faulks road, of a more than 7 kilometer road that was constructed and dualized. The rest by is just a combination of swamps and refuse mountain. I am always disgusted everytime I visit Aba because I must pack my rubber slippers in anticipation of the swamps I will wade through.
Aba needs the authorities' help. I have decided that I can only visit my parents in Aba, but nothing in this world would make me live there again,...at least till I see better or what is obtainable in other states.

Gov okezie ikpeazu meeting with Aba business community on the aegis of Aba Chambers of Commerce led by Chief Anthony Enukeme (TONIMAS) in Abia State Governor's Lodge in Aba...the thrust of their meeting is how to revamp Aba.

He also met with former governor Dr Chukwumeke Ezeife.

Good he's taking some of these initiatives already... We hope it doesn't end up on paper or pipeline ideas only...Best wishes as Aba is truly and humanely transformed again...

a rigid concrete pavement without 'suspension biscuit,lean concrete blinding,Dowell bar'..,..damn,who designed dis road?.......gosh dis roadside engineering is condemnable.

Abians hold us accountable if we fail to deliver. Good things happening everywhere in Abia and lalasticlala is very much aware of how we roll in our hood

Pls my advice is that the governor should have future plans on black nd white... starts projects like ggreater Aba city, this should be around osisioma with overhead bridge across aba-ph express road with good under pss. Aba phase 2 should be towards ibeme,abala with 2 lane high ways, good stadium, tourist park, a very big fiilm. Village and academy to draw Nollywood(igbo nollywood for dstv content),schools and free trade zone. Good garden streets and street lights. Establish Aba Engineering Company headed by Aba patriots. Make sure that 100% of the works re done. With Aba engineers or nigeria. Engineers with those with good engineering exposures abroad, overseas. Link all section of the state/aba town with railway. This is not nuclear science. Aba people can do it because they are hard working then ur governor will. Be the best. Thing happening in this Country. Only God knows that Ikpeazu came to transform Abia State.

My people use to say that "he who wears the shoe, knows where it pinches". Ikpeazu understood the problem of Aba and started with good drainage system. Now solid road construction is going on around Abia State.

It looks like the contractor handling Tonimas/Umule Road has abandoned the roads,from the look of things,Umuocham road has been completed while Umule and Tonimas are left as an eyesore,Umuocham and Umule road works started the same time,though Umule drainage(gutters)has been completed,but why are they delaying in constructing those roads,this is dry season,its best they utilize this opportunity and finish up the work,not wait till rainfall comes up again.Have u been to those roads(umule and tonimas) recently? Try and visit there.

On Saturday, November 14, Governor Okezie Victor Ikpeazu of Abia State, paid an unofficial visit to his brother and friend, Dr. Ifeanyi Ubah in Lagos.
Governor Ikpeazu, during the visit, visited some facilities and establishments of Dr Ubah several locations in Lagos.
Governor commended the Nnewi-born oil-magnet and industrialist for his business foresight, but reminded him of the need to invest in Abia State.

Good to know he's talking with some already...But let him kindly remember that aside photo sessions and visits to them that there several factors that influence business decisions and sitting of industries or factories...So to what extent has he established these incentives to investment?...What development/industrial plan did he meet them with aside the usual think-home rhetoric...Where specifically does he need each to come in and invest?... What's the sustainability of his plans?

Truth is Abia didn't get just 2billion...because aside her due allocation, she also gets 13% derivation etc unless they have been so indebted to banks that most of their allocations end up in debt servicing...Like I said ab initio, good financial management and sincerity in governance is key...
