Nigerian president Muhammadu Buhari has promised to facilitate the building of a vibrant television and media economy in the country. The president also said his government would ensure a strict adherence to the plan to reach 100 percent digital TV penetration in Nigeria by 2016, up from 49 percent at the end of 2013, WorldStage reported. He said the country will use the digital switch-over as an opportunity to diversify the provision of channels and content. The president was speaking at theĀ 35th anniversary of the Silverbird media and entertainment company in LagosĀ
