B-R-E-A-K-I-N-G News!!!
Another 34 Soldiers Killed By Boko Haram, 105 Killed Last Week Were Secretly Buried Today.

**the 34 men Killed are from the 118 battalion, while the 105 were from the 157 battalion in Warri.

The Nigerian Army at the military cemetery in Maiduguri this morning secretly buried the bodies of about 105 soldiers killed by the Islamist terror group, Boko Haram insurgents.

The decomposed bodies of the men who were killed in an encounter with the terrorists last week Wednesday were brought to Maiduguri Monday evening in body bags and were confirmed by the Brigade Commander, Army Engineering Corps.
The military in an attempt to cover up the development has denied that any soldier was missing and described an exclusive story published Thursday by Premium Times as “a fabrication from the imagination of those sympathetic to Boko Haram ways of life.”

Military spokesman, Colonel Tukur Ismail Gusau said insurgents attacked the location of 157 Battalion last Wednesday, but they were “subsequently repelled by the gallant troops of the Unit.” He added that the unit’s commanding officer remained in contact with his Brigade Commander.
It was reported that at least 105 soldiers attached to the 157 battalion went missing after they came under intense attack from Boko Haram insurgents in Gudunbali, Borno, on Wednesday morning.

It was also reported that the terrorists captured a T-72 tank as well as several artillery weapons from the unit.
Nigerian Times source in Maiduguri who confirmed the latest development also revealed that about 34 men of the 118 battalion were also killed by the insurgents last week but the story was covered up by military authorities.

This deaths mark a nadir in the war against the terrorists. The administration of President Jonathan had contracted mercenaries with far superior military tactics in the war. The mercenaries had dealt a telling blow to the terrorists at the tail end of the last administration. But the Buhari government in a fit of groundless bravado had sent the mercenaries packing, vowing that the terrorists could be defeated by the Nigerian Army. Since then, the Army had suffered severe losses.

The burial of the slain soldiers is coming on the heels of a statement on Monday by Defence Spokesman, Col. Sani Usman who described the report of the missing soldiers as a smear campaign against the Nigerian military.

Why would a country hire mercenaries in the first place and still make budgets for the military?

You can't tell me soldiers getting paid just to galivant on military uniform.

Op,the tone of your report sounds biased, but i blame the Nigerian military/government for that. Since they've decided to be covering up the truth and dishing out pathetic lies that end up ridiculing our military, biased news such as yours will continue to flourish.

Precisely, if the FG was honest with Nigerians, people like the OP would not have the avenue to create euphoria against the government. I am afraid, that this administration, has started reading from the same book as the former. And we all know what became of them. Truth, 94% of the time is priceless.

ON NNAMDI KALU

The longer Nnamdi Kanu is kept out of circulation, the larger he will become in popular esteem. By being unjustly imprisoned, he is being made to walk a path walked by all the great revolutionaries of history. Every jab on him, every shove he is made to endure, is a direct and crude assault on freedom. At the moment, he is only but a prisoner of conscience, and a personable symbol of resistance. His message is timeless and of universal essence, and both history and destiny are his mistresses! His apotheosis is only but a matter of time, and then, Nnamdi's name shall be spoken with reverence and awe, so long as there exists the need to overcome the yoke of tyranny!
