Have seen a lot of designs n themed cakes and am thrilled. Kindly drop ur advice on tools to need especially on d icing aspect.

When you go on YouTube, the knowledge you obtain is even better than most training schools. Anything I want to learn my first point of call is YouTube. Don't rush to buy stuff yet just your pen and paper for now.

I think there is a way to download the videos onto your laptop, you can ask an IT guru or google it.

You can try 'keepvid' or 'savefromnet'. You just copy the link of the YouTube video that you want, then paste it in a designated section on any of the 2 sites. Voila. Good luck.

Just got a microwave oven (LG) n learnt can't use d normal baking pan in it. What will I use then?
Also can I make cake from scratch using a mug (mirowave safe) to bake?

A microwave oven is not for baking, it is for heating up meals, but if you decide to use it to bake you will have to use the silicon tins. you will not be able to put anything metallic. It will be better to use a big pot filled with sand than a microwave oven. This is just my opinion based on my personal experience.

U don't need to buy anything....go start a baking class from anywhere close to you with great designs and tasty cakes....

Note some caterers can decorate but their cakes ain't tasty other bake good tasty cakes but their decoration is nothing to write home about...

U need to learn the basics of cake baking and decoration

When u start ur class as your course progresses you would know the instruments u need at that particular time....

After ur days class create time at home to practise what u learnt in class...cake baking and decoration needs constant practise.

As ur class progress you would know the instruments to buy...different subjects require different instruments..

In my honest opinion it is only after u have done a basic training that the youtube videos would make sense to u...cos most of the videos its assume the person watching is already a baker...for instance if the tutor mentions dip star 2 tip or glaze icing ...if u don't have a basic background knowledge you won't know....

But if u fall into the exemption of those who are quick to grasp things quickly u can watch you tube videos go to the market describe the instrument or mention the name to the vendor he gives it to u to go back home and practise.

The advantage of going somewhere they regularly make great cakes is the there is nothing like a practical experience....you would learn more.

The first thing you need is Concentration then
Heart of willing to know,then self discipline', you will now be talking What you neeD to know about. The baking eg
You need to know the scale measurement,like grams and kg
You need to know all the measurement that will go for the recipe of A dough ,that you can use for the flour that will bake the bread and then
You need to know how to mix dough every well
You also need to know the numbers of each recipe are going to bring out when you start to mold.
Before you will now be planing how to buy all the equipment needed.

To know the things required for baking, you must have registered for a baking class, where you will be taught about baking and it's essentials including ingredients and tools required to make good cakes. So my dear a good baking class is a prerequisite.
