Hello all, I am trying to figure out the national market size of broilers, in terms of weight of chicken meat produced. Does anyone have any info on that? Who are the biggest broiler producers in the country? Thanks Joe |

Broiler market weight in Nigeria starts from 1.2kg but must make sure your birds attain a "mouth watering" body size to attract prospective buyers. Some of my birds attained a body weight of 1.7kg at week 4 and now they are looking so robust and ready for market at week 5 but won't be selling them off until week 7 so as to make them bigger and heavier for better market value. |

what I mean by market size is the total weight of broiler chicken produced in the country. I believe it is somewhere around 300 000 tonnes but can someone confirm that? |
