A SHORT ESSAY ON THE ISSUES: firstly for you lot complaining about PMB traveling too much, do you watch the news? If you do you'd know how many meetings of world leaders has been held over the past 6months, economic summit, war against terrorism, climate change, oil producing nations meetings etc etc. And apparently most of the presidents travels have been conferences and not state visits, well except when he went to Chad and Cameroun( those where irrelevant Abi? Ha). which do you think he shouldn't have gone for? Abi he should have sent Oshiomole to represent Nigeria? I'm sure Obama would have taken us seriously. Also do you watch the news? If you did you would know this fellow Xi Jinping(the new world boss), have you seen the number of journeys he has embarked on this year? That dude is trotting the planet. Do you hear the Chinese complaining? Do you think he doesn't know what he's doing? And guess where he just landed, south Africa, same place PMB is landing today. Shey na groundnut them wan go sell for there ko?

You want him to stay home and solve the issues, like we all don't know he doesn't have the intellectual capacity to do that, what exactly do you want him to do, sign papers? I thought we lived in an era where one could know what was happening in Abuja from anywhere. I think I'll fancy our chances more if Osibanjo and Fashola where running things on ground.

Secondly IPOB, I think the members, supporters and sponsors are all exceptionally foolish or lack the intellectual capacity to reason(oh shoot, that's still foolish). Why? Even if ignored are being marginalized, which they are by the way, how does asking for Biafra solve anything? Which states do you even think would constitute biafra? We all know everybody hates igbos. Efik and Ibibio would never join us, rivers and Bayelsa will never join us, Urhobo and itshekiri would not join, Edo people no go join, even "delta igbo " sef might reconsider. So what nation are you expecting? A nation with no land or sea borders? Even ISIL and Boko Haram have borders. Talk less of an actual nation. The people's republic of Donesk sef have borders. How would you export? Sell you oil, travel, buy food? Get arms for your army? You think oil and trade is enough? Do we even have oil? Go and ask south Sudan how they are faring. Oil breakaway nation. Indeed. The dynamics have changed oh, this isn't 1967. Igbos have no friends and allies anymore.

OMG, see an Igbo man speaking for buhari and against his people, that's why I should never have grown up in the north, i have obviously gone mad.

Lastly Bingo the Lion was killed. Poor dude, he should have been traquilized abi? But we know they don't have the gun or bullet na. Would we have been happy if they confessed and said they will order tranquilizer gun from Ukraine, it will arrive in a week then we'll get the Lion down? That would have been better Abi? The place has surely been poorly managed and they don't have money. But you sef josites follow for the blame oh. If them say make you pay N1000 to enter wild life park you no go gree. You think they will buy tranquilizer gun from your N50 gate fee? Abeg chill. RIP BINGO the Lion.

Seun, lalasticlala, ishilove, obinoscopy - I think Nigerians ought to see a more pragmatic side of Mr. President's trips. The gist is that these trips are outright necessary. If we ever want to be in the committee of nations, PMB cannot be missing a climate change summit, or G20 meeting, or United Nations General assembly meeting.

I always believe he's working, the results cannot be felt as fast as we want, but we will someday soon see the changes we want. might not really be the one's they promised but a better one

God bless our country Nigeria

I agree with the OP that the travels by the president has not been state visits; they have largely been Conferences, Summits, or Strategic meetings.

Most of the criticism are from three groups:
(1) Genuine folks who do not fully understand the strategic importance of such meetings
(2) The opposition who, understandably, will find fault with every move of the sitting government
(3) The Separatists who would like to see Nigeria collapse, so they are frustrated seeing intl alliances that might strengthen the Union

This post makes a lot of sense. Thank God we still have sane people from the east side.
Some people just refuse to take their medicine since Jega announced the result of the presidential election.
They call the president all sort of names immediately he was declared winner. They forget that it took Nigeria over 4 years before they got fed up of their 'hero of democracy'

People should also realise that PMB is seeking investment and favourable loans and grants, the fact is that presently Nigeria spends almost all its revenue on just paying its wage bill a leagacy of GEJ administration we need money to build our refineries roads hosiptals agricultural sector etc PMB could take the easy route go to the IMF or World Bankfor money but the interest and conditions attached these loans will be too steep we do want to have an unpayable debt situation like Greece thus we can only lobbying loans from friendly countries from a $110 to $8 that is how much the price of oil as fallen it is a miracle that APC has been able to keep the country going.

this sounds very true but then the proverbial phrase of chasing rat when your house is on fire keeps coming to my mind

meanwhile

Do you have a skill or do you run a service and yet not making much money out of it? Chances are that many people don't know you have this skill or offer such services and yet someone in your area might be in desperate need of your services... are you a makeup artist, event manager, Dj, Piano tutor, Model, Rented Usher, Bass guitar tutor, graphics designer, web developer, actor/actress, Lesson teacher, french Lesson tutor, programmer, etc... register your services/skill at (check my signature) and be surprised how many people require your services out there but don't know you offer them. Sabiboy.com... someone, somewhere needs your services.

Solve the problems on ground first. It is not what you do but how you do it. No one said he shud not travel. Nigeria doesnt have any business with climate change.

We need to industralise and build more factories. India does not attend because their power relies on coal. PMB needs to realise what is important. On issue of loan, the finance minister can take care of dat. Okonjo was able to get loans even the former aviation minister got this same china loan for airport infrastructure.

The truth is we have a president who is slowly getting addicted to the flair of state visit.

Honestly most Nairalanders, and by extension, Nigerian educated folks should be taught International diplomacy 101 as a course....i think it would expose us to the dynamics of world politics and how leaders reacts to challenges

Una think say Buhari say he no wan rest for once

But he's busy looking for ways to fix Nigeria headlong...and he's retinue of aids have reduced drastically to what was obtainable under GEJ

The only thing I want him to do is to do away with half of the presidential jets....they are waste of money
