Understanding The Phrase "A Prophet Unto Moses" by Highcuerayte: 9:33am On Dec 06, 2015
I welcome you again to today study in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ who has given us to be alive today,us and our family, our friends not excluded. Nothing gives more joy than the pleasure of knowing the Truth, and the truth, Christ said, shall set you free.

There has been over ages, scores of title given to the coming Son of God by mouth of the Lord God himself, ranging to the Patriarchs, to Moses and to the Prophets; both major and minor. Of all these titles we shall be picking one, which extensively has been misconstrued, effect of which is a contradiction of purpose. A prophet onto Moses.

Moses was the third person to reveal the coming Son of God after the two revelations, from God in which he called him "The Son of Man" and Isreal when he called him "Shiloh." For Moses he called him "A prophet like me," the emphasis on "Me" instead of "Prophet." For what is a Prophet if not a spokesman with Strong's number 5030. So the phrase better put is "A spokesman like me."

So what kind of spokesman or as said "prophet" is Moses? What exactly was Moses saying when he said "Like me"? Did he said it for saying sake? Below are reasons why Christ was a Prophet onto Moses

1. Compassion: Most, all together, knew Moses as the most humble man on earth but few took time to look beyond that. Moses was compassionate, he cared for his race ,uncomfortable with their suffering despite the opulence. And for once we saw Christ leaving his glory behind and coming down to save us,the work of his hands. We read Christ saying to Jerusalem, how often will I gather you and you will not be gathered? This is nothing less than Moses.

2. Humbleness : Till this day, there remains no Prophet held in honour among the Jews as Moses. And that is why they are always ready to stone anyone who speak against Moses. Moses saw God face to face, speak face to face, watched God wrote with his fingers yet remained humble before him and before his people, refusing to use his authority negatively . And we saw Christ though he being God humbled himself before the Father and the Holy Spirit, even before humans the work of his hands. So we read Christ saying, Can I not call the Father that he send me Legions of angels? But instead submitted himself.

3. A Mediator : Moses intercessed more than twice for Pharaoh an enemy of God and more for the people of Israel. Even at the offer of making of him a great nation at the expence of Isreal destruction, an opportunity many would have seized, he still begs for forgiveness. A man who asked his name be removed from the book of life for the sake of his brethren without a second thought. And we saw Christ on the cross for the sake of man, mediating for our sins.

4. A Judge: Overlooked but not overlooked. Moses was a Judge. He judged the whole isrealite according to the wisdom giving to him. Though not yet,but one day we shall see Christ Judging the whole world. We see God appointing Christ as Judge of all.

Indeed, the list would have continued, even two volumes of books could not contain. But then, one thing we must understand is, when Moses said a prophet like me, he was speaking of the nature of Christ, his purpose and work. Using himself as an example he painted for all to see what the Christ will be like. A man like Moses but better than Moses. For those that didn't listen to Moses didn't die but anyone who does not listen to Christ, Moses said, shall die. So brethrens, the phrase doesn't invalidate the divinity of Christ rather it Validate it.
