IPOB Releases Identities Of Dead Protesters by Seventhview: 9:41am On Dec 07, 2015
IPOB’s Spokesperson in Anambra state, released some of the identities of the protesters shot dead by the Joint Task Force on Wednesday, as follows; Chima Onoh, from Enugu state, Kenneth Ogadinma from Abia State, Angus Chikwado and Felicia Egwuatu from Anambra State, including another, he said they got information was killed in Idemili side of Anambra State late Wednesday evening. He also said that the JTF killed a young lady that was later identified as Nkiruka and tried to take her corpse away.

According to an eye witness reporter, the men of the JTF men shooting sporadically at Obodoukwu Road by Nigerian Customs Service Onitsha. He identified Nkiruka is from Adazi Nnukwu in Anaocha Local Government Area of Anambra State, a 200 level student of Federal College of Education Technical, Umunze and the only daughter of the family.

“Nkiruka was coming from Nigerian Customs Service by Asaba Onitsha Enugu expressway towards Obodoukwu Road and on hearing gun-shots, she ran into a restaurant and one of the JTF members shot her dead and was about taking her corpse away when her family came with an ambulance and spoke with the JTF men who later released the corpse to them.” However, the police from Anambra State had denied any killing by the JTF through the Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Mr. Ali Okechukwu. Meanwhile, a coalition of civil society groups had called for immediate resignation of the Inspector General of Police, IGP, Mr. Solomon Arase for his alleged shoot-at-sight order and roles in the Onitsha killings of protesting IPOB members. In a press statement released, yesterday, and signed by Emeka Umeagbalasi, the coordinating principal of the coalition said it was equally important to inform that the Nigeria Police Force under Arase was already under the jurisdictional watch of the International Criminal Court as compilation and computation of cases of all police and military related extra judicial killings in the country were steadily in progress, adding, “for failing to heed our warning of 13th November 2015, we will be glad to ensure that IGP Arase and his named sub-commanders are handcuffed and flown to The Hague for the purpose of making them face international trial for crimes against humanity.”

According to the coalition: “We call on the IPOB and its teeming followers to remain peaceful, non- violent and law-abiding at all times, not minding the violence recently visited and unleashed on them.

“They must also watch their back and be extremely vigilant so as to ward off sustained efforts of some commissioned elements within the Federal Government, particularly its security establishments and stooges within the South East Governors Forum to implant elements of violence into their fold so as to destroy their globally -approved method of non- violence and peaceful means of agitation.”

Innocent lives gone.

Who do we blame? The protesters? who have a right to a peaceful protest, that was later hijacked?

The Security Agencies, whose Jobs are to safeguard lives and property?

MASSOB And IPOD? Who even if they called for the rally, conveniently was at the back of the protesters, instead of the front when the shooting took place.

Or maybe we will blame Buhari, who it is his Job to keep Nigeria one.

But, one thing we can all agree on is, if those guys had been going about their private business, I am sure they will be alive.

Now, it is the family and direct loved ones who are feeling the pain.

i blame the security agencies who opened fire at unarmed peaceful protesters by 1.30am in the night. i blame the buhari led apc government who gave the shooting order even though they knew quite well that the peaceful protest was 100% legitimate according to lai Mohammed. America predicted that Nigeria would break up on or before 2016 and went ahead to carry on military games on how they would secure our oil facilities when confused fighting breaks up nationwide. they stationed soldiers in Ghana and Niger republic during the last election after Obama has handed over his personal campaign manager to buhari thinking gej would let the country burn but gej shamed them all with his humility now it's buhari that would make that prediction come through by his acts of war crime against unarmed peaceful protesters. when ipob picks up arms probable supplied by America and her allies and tries to take the war and destruction to other parts of the country outside their home region against the poorly equipped, trained, demoralized and tribally divided Nigerian army, the whole country would burn like Syria, Libya and Yemen all rolled into one with confused fighting by soldiers, boko haram,Fulani herdsmen, Niger Delta militants, ipob etc. the Americans would seize our oil facilities and you would be happy for your blind support for the government. wisdom is needed to direct. let the fg grant them a peaceful referendum and try to defeat them through superior logic to the voters as the British did to the Scottish separatists. if the only language buhari understands is violence then you too ought to be concerned.

It will be better you put this agitation to rest for now and find how to bring about a level of development to the South-east then we can talk of returning back home cos as it stand its very dicey and i don't see light at the end of the tunnel from all of this mess.

Innocent lives are just been wasted by politicians promoting the agitation to their own benefit.

We all saw the picture of the young unarmed girl who was murdered in broad daylight by the security agents of Nigeria. It is only in a highly uncivilised country that a police will turn their weapons against unarmed civilians. Arase should have resigned for this despicable act

for the record, umeagbalasi is the leading of civil liberties organization (clo). and i may ask what is the stand of the Catholic church on the this since it seems all the victims are Catholics igbos are atleast 90% Catholics. what about the Anglicans and can. chimanda adichie have become very rich and famous by writing about biafra, what is her say on this? i can see the south African struggle against apartheid replaying itself again with these silence and that only means more blood would flow from both sides.

so all the people living in the east are living in underdevelopment? ecowas treaty means no Nigerian or biafran would leave his/her current place of domicile when biafra becomes a reality.
